🚨ZELENSKYY REPEATED ONE MORE TIME THAT UKRAINE WILL NOT JOIN TRUMP’S BOARD OF PEACE, BECAUSE THERE IS NO PEACE WITH RUSSIA AT THIS POINT Q: You said that Putin is a terrorist and a war criminal, does he belong on something called a board of peace in your view? ZELENSKYY: Look, this is the initiative of President Trump. It's not my initiative. I'm not the president of the United States. We've been invited. To be honest with you, in the 20 points plan, when we spoke about security guarantees and how to monitor one of the important first steps like a ceasefire, the American side proposed that they will need partners who will monitor with the United States, and it can be like council of peace, and it will be two sides of the war. It means Russians and Ukrainians because we are on the contact line, we have to monitor, yes, by drones and technology issues, and they said it will be also Americans and some other Europeans. I mean, it's not the news about this council for me. I didn't know how it will be, that it will be in Davos, and whom President Trump will involve or propose invitation. I didn't know. It's up to him. But I said that for us, it's understandable that we will be in this board when the war will end. Now with Russians, we are enemies. Belarussia is allie of Russians. We can't be with them. And it's already in the package, in the 20 points plan. So it will work, I think so, it will work with monitor mission only after the war will end. Maybe there are some others issues like Gaza. I'm not talking about us to be involved in Gaza and other questions. So we are only speaking about these partners who will monitor ceasefire and security guarantees.

🚨 Zelenskyy briefly spoke with journalists after the online negotiations with European leaders. ZELENSKYY: "On the way to the U.S. to meet with President Trump, we discussed with what we once called the ‘Washington team,’ now the ‘Berlin team’—a broader group of European leaders—the key documents that we’ll discuss tomorrow with President Trump, the main documents. Europeans don’t know all the details yet. They couldn’t know everything yet because we worked in a bilateral format. Plus, a few Europeans initially—the E3—and later everyone else joined in. We discussed 20 points, including our position on territorial issues, the Zaporizhzhia power plant, and financial matters. It’s simpler for us now. As we said, 90% of our 20 points are already finalized, because we have solutions. Some may like them, some won’t, but regardless, Ukraine will receive $100 billion. Ursula von der Leyen and Antonio Costa confirmed this again today. We really want these documents, right after our conversation… we hope for a constructive dialogue in the U.S., so we want to meet with European leaders to share our developments and discuss them. Because there are security guarantees from the U.S. and from our European colleagues that need to be addressed. We want to discuss all of this. I proposed a plan to them regarding the upcoming days, weeks, and meetings. They will think it over and work on it." Q: About tomorrow’s meeting—what other expectations do you have for the Trump meeting? ZELENSKYY: "Security guarantees are very important to me, and we want them to be absolutely clear. And it matters when we can have them. We discussed this with our European colleagues as well. Security guarantees must coincide with ending the war, as we need assurance that Russia won’t restart its aggression. Strong security guarantees are essential. We’ll discuss these terms, and I believe we’ll talk it through. We’ll focus heavily on economics, since the frozen Russian assets aren’t enough to rebuild Ukraine. It’s a significant sum, but still insufficient. We’ll discuss various sensitive matters with the U.S. President. I expect the conversation will go well, and perhaps we’ll meet again with European leaders to address this issue," - Zelenskyy said to journalists on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025

Listen to Bernard-Henri Lévy—a philosopher who has not just witnessed the war firsthand but argues that Ukraine is actually Europe's most vital security asset. As BHL puts it, Kyiv has the continent's best army, full stop, with the high-intensity experience to prove it. This isn't just about winning; it’s about making Ukraine the ultimate guarantor of European safety. Let's hear why he thinks bringing Ukraine into NATO isn't a risk—it's the only smart move against putin’s global chaos. Bernard-Henri Lévy: “For me, the security guarantees are not really NATO. If Ukraine were to join NATO, it wouldn't be NATO guaranteeing Ukraine's security. I believe it would be Ukraine that would be a security guarantee for Europe.” Host: “You wrote an editorial about that.” Bernard-Henri Lévy: “Yes, an editorial, because I think it is the best army in Europe. It is the only one that knows how to fight, it is the only one capable of deploying a significant number of men, and it is the only one that knows how to use our own weapons. The Caesar cannons, the …. , which are probably already in the field for some, and other sophisticated weapons. The only ones who know how to operate them today are the Ukrainians. So I think...” Host: “French soldiers know how to do it too.” Bernard-Henri Lévy: “Well yes, they know how to do it, except they know how to do it in theory. Knowing how to do it as I have seen the Ukrainians do it... I saw a French Caesar cannon in operation in Pokrovsk, it’s in my latest film, "Dans notre guerre" (In Our War). Well, the Ukrainians, they know how to do it in the snow, they know how to do it under fire, they know how to do it with attackers 2 km away. It's not quite the same knowledge. So, what I mean is that those who lose the most from this compromise are perhaps precisely the European countries and the NATO countries, because, even though the Americans will never let Ukraine join NATO (for now with Donald Trump it is impossible), well, it’s a shame for us. There you have it. It’s a shame for France, it’s a shame for Poland, it’s a shame for the Baltic States, it’s a shame for the West. There, I'm telling you. Bernard-Henri Lévy: Secondly, regarding the security guarantees from the United States and Europe towards Ukraine... On that, I am, like the Ukrainians often are, extremely skeptical. Because they have had security guarantees, since the Budapest Memorandum, when they were told: "Be nice, we are going to consolidate the nuclear weapons, there is no reason to leave them in both Russia and Ukraine. We'll gather everything in Ukraine, but we will give you security guarantees." The result was, a few years later, the shooting on the Maidan: 105 or 106 young people massacred in plain sight, without Europe lifting a finger, by militiamen in Moscow's pay, and so on. So, the true security guarantee for Ukraine is its army, its president, its civilian population, the skill and the incredible intelligence and composure of this man. Honestly, I don't know how this man, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, I don't know how he holds up. I don't know how he endures these trials, these humiliations, this... the stupidity that he is sometimes confronted with. I... he is a... there is heroism and there is saintliness in Zelenskyy. There is saintliness.”

🚨MARK RUTTE: YOU DO NOT WANT ANOTHER BUDAPEST MEMORANDUM OR A MINSK AGREEMENT. EUROPEAN ALLIES WILL DEPLOY TROOPS TO UKRAINE AFTER A DEAL IS REACHED. TROOPS ON THE GROUND, JETS IN THE AIR, SHIPS IN THE BLACK SEA. THE U.S. WILL BE THE BACKSTOP. THE SECURITY GUARANTEES ARE SOLID “In addition to strong armed forces, Ukraine needs robust security guarantees. The United States, Europe, and Canada have affirmed their readiness to provide the assurance that Ukraine needs to be able to forge a peace with Russia. The members of the Coalition of the Willing made encouraging progress on these guarantees when they met last month in Paris. I was at that meeting, and so was President Zelensky. Some European allies have announced that they will deploy troops to Ukraine after a deal is reached. Troops on the ground, jets in the air, ships on the Black Sea. The United States will be the backstop. Others have vowed to support in other ways. The security guarantees are solid, and this is crucial because we know that getting to an agreement to end this terrible war will require difficult choices. Ukraine needs to know with absolute certainty that whatever sacrifices you have made, the lives you have lost, the devastation you have endured, will not be at risk of repetition. You need to know that this peace will be lasting, not because papers have been signed, but because there is hard power to back it up. You rightly do not want another Budapest Memorandum or a Minsk Agreement”, - NATO secretary general on Tue, Feb 3rd, 2026

Today, we had a detailed discussion with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, joined by Lindsey Graham and Mark Rutte, on how to strengthen diplomacy, what steps are possible, and on security guarantees and the involvement of Europeans. It was a positive conversation. Thank you, Steve, Jared, Lindsey, and Mark. We agreed to strengthen security guarantees, and I have already instructed our team to promptly update the documents so that the security guarantees for Ukraine are strong, the prospects for post-war reconstruction are real, and everything is doable. Everything must be kept current. We see how the world is changing – how much can shift in a single moment. This concerns both alliances and security challenges alike. Ukraine must receive reliable security: this is the main task. I am grateful that the U.S. President’s envoys hear us and are ready to work together to find the right compromises, steps, and decisions. The key lies in how and what all of us discuss with Russia, and in how the documents are prepared, particularly those on security guarantees. So that Ukrainians clearly understand how partners will respond in the event of renewed Russian aggression, and what will actually deter Russia from aggression. We need strong, shared positions, and Ukraine’s contribution to this strength is unquestionable. We continue working with America. I thank everyone who is helping. I expect that the teams will work substantively in the coming days so that we can all feel progress. A trilateral format – a leaders’ format – all of this is necessary.

🚨I will never be ashamed to say, I told you so — because I did. Earlier this past Sunday, I said that Reuters misinterpreted the statements of the Ukrainian president, who never said that Ukraine was dropping its bid for NATO. The Alliance is simply not included in the current peace negotiations as a security guarantee. Responding to a follow-up question from Reuters about their article, Zelenskyy confirmed: "I don't know who or what interpreted my words that way. Indeed, from my first days, from my first dialogue with the President of the United States, former President Biden, I honestly raised this issue because NATO is in our Constitution along with our European course. I asked this question quite directly: can Ukraine join NATO? Because we want this, and we understand these are real security guarantees. This was before the big scale invasion. President Biden told me: ‘No, you will not be in NATO.’ I brought up this issue every time, and some in the White House would just smile in response. And they always said I was tough. Although, I don't know why. Honestly, I don't understand when a country says: ‘We're not against it in principle, but you won't be joining.’ I believe you we won't be there because someone opposes it, and we need to openly identify who's against it, then either resolve these issues or not. So honestly, I don't think we need to change our country's Constitution. First, this is Ukraine's Constitution, and the Ukrainian people should decide what to do with it, not someone else. Definitely not because of demands from Russia or anyone else. This is our Constitution and our course. We wanted these security guarantees. We believe we deserve them. The policy of the United States is consistent, it doesn't change. Regarding Ukraine's NATO membership, they don't see us there. For now."
