There's a reason they call this a suicide pass. 😱 This player gets absolutely blindsided and his bucket goes flying. Player is in intensive care in serious condition. The "no response" from the other team is alarming especially after that hit. These are 17 year olds.

Feel bad for the kid that got smoked, but really struggling to see anything wrong at all with the hit. 🤷‍♂️

Suicide pass or not , the other player tried to decapitate that kid. Thats egregious head contact.

This is a hard one in my opinion to analyze. I'd like to see the right right side angle of the defensive player and the back of the offensive player. White jersey is leaning forward, stretching for the puck, defender is coming in anticipating the possession and already lining up his hit, and I think that's a fair play. We can't have a game of hockey if offensive players can't keep their heads up and be aware of the direction they're skating. I'm from Texas, a very non-hockey region, and I knew as a youth player back in the 90s, don't skate in the open with head down or leaning, and most certainly don't skate within three feet of the boards. I feel sorry for that kid who got hit, but it's hard to justify it was dirty.

When I was young my Father challenged hockey Canada to actually lower the hitting league from peewee u13 to atoms u11. His arguement was as a coach he wants kids to get used to hitting and being hit younger when they cant damage each other. Hockey Canada instead raised it to Bantam u15 years later. This is the result.

So what at 17 they should know full well to keep your head up even on the pond goin across the middle; 🤷🏽‍♂️ never know who’s dad is having a day or feels a life lesson is in order🫡.. soften the game because wankers like you don’t understand the rules. 🙄 right…

The kids reaching for the puck, not skating and has no idea a train was coming. Hopefully he will be alright. Im a strong believer that hitting should be brought into the game before kids reach teenage years so they get more experience and wisdom on how to play the physical game
