Even before a new budget is approved, NASA is forced to make cuts. Just immediately ending everything related to SLS Block 1B and 2, which will never be used, is such easy and money-saving low hanging fruit! Where is DOGE when you need it? #DumpSLSBlock1BNow!

Starbase Launch Pad 1/A has a interesting delivery overnight, with an empty ship transport stand rolling out from the production site to the pad. With no ship currently at the pad, it remains to be seen what this is for. @NASASpaceflight

Artemis was a great test of going around the moon. However the Artemis rocket system has the same problem as the Apollo missions to the moon. It costs too much. The Artemis rocket, SLS, was designed by the US Senate. $4 billion per launch. And can only launch once each 2 years. We can’t build a moon base with this system. SLS was a rocket designed by politicians to create jobs for the old Space Shuttle contractors. They spent 15 years and $25 billion developing it, and it will never be cost effective at $4 billion per launch. It is an obsolete rocket already. It works, but it will eventually die due to budget cuts.

A fresh look at SLS 🚀 We used our supercomputers and wind tunnels here at our Silicon Valley center to simulate airflow the Space Launch System rocket will experience during ascent. Notice anything new? Flanking each booster is a strake to improve the rocket’s airflow and stability. For the Artemis II mission, a pair of these strakes will be added to the core stage of SLS to smooth vibrations.
