Dead Souls, The Master and Margarita, Eugene Onegin, and A Hero Of Our Time are some of my favorite books ever, even in English. Russian literature is second to none IMO

Totally agree with you!🫱🏻🫲🏼 there are so many masterpieces!

Crime & Punishment Is a beautiful work of literature and philosophy, along with all of Dostoevskij's works.

Have you read Boulgakov? I adore his “Dog’s heart”! Even more than “Master and Margarita”

💪 Merica, we're taking it back. 💯 You like Trump, you know it, time to show it. ✅ T's for Trump here:

@GeromanAT 😂😂. I need to share this with my Russian friends.

@GeromanAT They will definitely widen this list of depressive books😂

In America we read "Old Yeller," Which is about a boy who had to kill his own dog... We also had to read "A portrait of dorian gray" about a young man whose portrait ages while Dorian pursues pleasure without consequence, leading to cruelty, crime, and ultimately his downfall. We also had to read "The Tell-Tale Heart" about a man who murdered another man and hid him beneath the floor of his own home. Just saying.😂

“Portrait of Dorian Gray” is a must-read for everyone!!! Brilliant book! And it’s not a fantasy.. Russians say “At 20 years of age a person gets a face given by nature, at 40 years person gets a face he/she deserves”

Your typical-Russian sense of dark humor is probably wasted on most European Russophobic readers. 👍

I must be an honorary Russian, because as a child those were the type of books I also liked.

Frankly speaking, all classical literature of the world is gloomy. Life was hard till the after WWII period. These are not horror stories, these are realities of those times.
