No matter how you fold, the hole will never get bigger and the coin will never pass through the hole. What you did is sliding the coin through the folds.

It is going through the original hole, however the folding makes the hole follow a folded new axis across a bent curve. This maximises the given circumference of the hole in a new plane, allowing the coin to pass through.

It's the same coin just not the real hole. It's a pseudo space created by the folding. Notice he said creates a new space, not the coin goes through the original hole
