One of my favorite parts about Mega Man X is also one I've seen people complain about, and I get it. The boss weaknesses more than trivialize the fights. It also turns some of them into rhythm-based mini-games. It becomes almost skill-based in the other direction. How efficient can you be? It's kind of a shame that the weapons completely drain the challenge. These are some of the most fun bosses in the series to do Buster only. Still, it's great that the option is there, and I like how they seemed to design it to be fun in a different way. It also makes the infamous Boss Rush a non-issue. #RetroGaming

I have enormous respect for Demis Hassabis. Probably the most important scientist of our time. But when he talks about the future impact of AI on the job market, it comes across as more reassuring than a clear thesis (as in this clip) On the one hand, he says that empirical evidence doesn't really show that AI is affecting the job market - this already contradicts what Georgieva, managing director of the International Monetary Fund, said recently in Davos. But much more importantly, Hassabis says that AI will create many new jobs, in creative fields, app development, and so on. But that doesn't make sense. Dario Amodei says that AI could cause 20% unemployment in the US in the next five years. Let's be conservative and assume 10%. Currently, 164 million people are employed in the US. 10% would be 16 million. So, 16 million people are supposed to develop apps, move into the creative sector (and also compete with the rest of the workforce in that field), not to mention that AI agents will presumably be able to program a large number of apps simultaneously much faster. Therefore, the question remains: how is it mathematically possible to create so many new jobs in such a short time to offset all the unemployment? I haven't found a logical explanation yet. In that respect, Hassabi's statement seems more like an attempt to reassure people, to avoid jeopardizing Google's business and development, and to tell them: don't be afraid of the future. AI won't be a problem, but will create new solutions. But I don't see any solution in the job market yet. With all due respect, it is nevertheless worrying that this enormous societal consequence is not being discussed empirically and seriously. There should be a large-scale panel on AI and the job market where leading scientists present their studies and discuss them with one another, instead of simply throwing out theories and assumptions time and again.

I do, especially when I go to other social media sites, like Threads, which just passed X in total users. I find attitudes like that uninformed, but what stopped an uninformed person from writing something on the Internet? Nothing. But since I jumped over to Threads today and got another eye full of that kind of stuff. So I mostly wanted to say thank you to the community of tens of thousands of people in tech that I follow, and show you what my screens look like today. If you turn on audio on the video here, you'll hear me talk through each of my lists. I use X Pro and lists. And by using them I find even my For You feed gets better. Much better, in fact. Why? Because if you engage on the REAL X, which you can only see on X Pro with lists, the algorithm figures out the kinds of things that catch your eye and looks for more. Also, by following lists you give the algorithm VERY IMPORTANT signal and a lot more things to choose from. Even if you just follow my feeds and never use them, your For You feed will get better BECAUSE you gave the algorithm more signal about what you want to see. If I see a brilliant person, or a new company, I put them on my lists. If I see someone go political all the time I remove them from my lists, or, maybe put them on my news lists if they are posting an interesting point of view that I would want to watch over time. These are the most complete lists in tech industry here on X, by far. I read through a LOT of lists: https:// ts And here is how I have my lists laid out in X Pro. If you are in the AI industry and you aren't following all my AI lists you are hurting yourself and ignoring many thousands of hours of work I've put into them over 18 years of being here on this service. I can only do this on X. The companies, for instance, aren't on the other services, and the AI research and development community here is stronger and more educational than they are on other services. And, because of Grok integration here, X is a far better learning platform. If I see a scientist sharing something I don't understand I click the Grok button and it teaches me a lot more. Thank you. And, yes, there are many other "X's" that I don't see. Sports, being one. I focus only on tech and educated people and my lists show that X is the best place for science, technology, and nerdy news. One last thing: the algorithm will, in about a month, radically change to be totally AI driven. There is some really weird stuff going on with this staged shooting. The shooter’s name is Cole Allen. He uploaded a photo wearing an IDF t-shirt to instagram prior to the shooting and google searches for his name trended in Israel prior to the shooting. Now it gets even weirder. A man by the name of Henry Martinez made a single post on X in 2023 that read: “Cole Allen.” And it looks like they knew each other as both Cole Allen and Henry Martinez interned at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 2014. There is no logical way to explain how Henry Martinez would know all the way back in 2023 that Cole Allen would do this in 2026 unless Time Travel is real and this is Henry’s way of hinting to us that it is real. You could argue the other way to explain it is this shooting was being planned all the way back in 2023 but that was before President Trump had won a 2nd term and as crazy as it sounds seems even more farfetched than Time Travel. 👀

Here's a short example of how I used reference video to create and modify animations in The Last of Us Part I. In these examples I'm studying the body mechanics, posing, and giving myself a good understanding of the motion, while also looking for details that I can add into the animation. You don't necessarily need to do it at the same speed. And things will often change when you're animating it. This is a foundational step when you want to achieve realism. In addition, I'm always thinking about the character themselves, and the context of the moment. Ellie is a small (yet strong) girl. So I added in the sensation of the weight of the gate, bringing it back down as she's transferring grip, and how there is some play between the wheels and the rails it rides in. Little things that adds to the final result.

If you could only learn one thing that will be relevant for the next 10-20 years, focus on learning how to deal with data. The future is not about faster hardware, smarter algorithms, or better ideas. The future is about DATA, and those who know how to deal with it will stay relevant much longer than anyone else. I recorded a video to show you how easy it is to get started. In the video, I'm using Kestra. For a long time, I was a fan of AirFlow. Then, I moved to AWS Step Functions. Today, I only use Kestra.
