I remember coming home from the 1st Gulf War & kissing the tarmac when I got off the plane.

You have no idea what our military people do to serve our country and what they sacrifice. I used to leave home for 6 weeks as an over the road truck driver. That's nothing compared to our military. Leave your family for 6 months, maybe a year. See how it is. Tears come to me.

I’m the daughter of a retired naval aviator. After 6-9 months deployment, my dad coming down the tarmac comprised the most impressive and exciting moments of my childhood. We lived all over the world, saw incredible sites and cultures, but nothing means more than dada coming home
