One complaint I hear often from parents my age & older is that “kids these days” don’t play outside like we used to. They’re glued to screens, not active, & not adventurous enough. Honestly, I find this frustrating because kids don't get to choose. Kids aren’t broken. Their environment is. As parents, we set that environment!! Author Jonathan Haidt, in his book The Anxious Generation, puts it perfectly: “We have overprotected our children in the real world while underprotecting them online." •Stop codling kids. •Get them outside playing. •Parents must lead by example.
