THESE MONSTRUOUS MASKS MAKE HALLOWEEN LOOK BASIC Forget Fortnite skins or AI art filters. One artist has spent the last six years building actual mechanical masks by hand,no computers, no 3D printing, no AI nonsense. Just old-school cutting, hammering, soldering, and probably a lot of swearing when the metal...

A case study from 2025 on Fauci's chosen method of prevarication. Scene: A appearance by Anthony Fauci at the New Orleans book festival, where he explains why "masks worked". In this clip, he starts by declaring: "masks worked". Applause follows. We should ask how applause is appropriate. Whether masks work is a scientific problem. It is not a moral or political position. Should a scientist be applauded for giving his or her scientific opinion? If they are, then it's not being treated as a scientific opinion anymore. The applause shows just how ideological the whole discussion on masking became--and remains. But what follows is remarkable. The interviewer pushes back and questions whether masks really worked, whether scientific evidence really supports that position. Fauci yields and pivots: "there's the rub, Walter, a proper mask, an N95 or KN95." In other words, the implication is that the cloth and surgical masks that he recommended during the pandemic didn't work, but N95s do. Which somehow still allows Fauci to say, "masks worked". Isn't this remarkable? Fauci started with "masks worked", i.e. the masks that were widely recommended and worn. And for this he was applauded. But now, without conceding the mistake of surgical and cloth recommendations, he maintains that "masks worked" but only "N95s or KN95s". It gets richer. Then Fauci digs in deeper: N95s and KN95s work, yes. But, but, but! Only if the N95 and KN95 is "properly worn, all the time". That is, the mask has to be properly fitted (and that requires professional assistance) with a proper seal, and worn all the time. Ergo, "masks worked". We've gone from cloth and surgical mask recommendations to properly fitted N95 and KN95 masks worn all the time. This is why "masks worked". Then Fauci digs in even deeper: but you cannot take the mask off to eat! People complain that they took the mask off to eat and got COVID. You can't do normal things and say masks don't work! The only way masks work if you live entirely abnormal lives. Therefore, according to Fauci, "masks worked". Here's the thing: Fauci has just enumerated all of the arguments against masks working in the real world, all the while affirming that "masks worked". He gets his cake and eats it too: On the one hand, clinical studies show that not only do surgical and cloth masks not work for respiratory pathogens in a variety of environments, N95s haven't been shown to work to reduce the risk of infection by a respiratory pathogen when worn over the course of the day in normal working conditions either. (This is probably, as other studies show, because the seal breaks within just a few hours--something Fauci alludes to--and because people take the mask off.) On the other hand, if you mask harder, if you do it absolutely perfectly, then they DO work. Ergo, "masks worked". Does anyone else see how twisted this logic is? I mean, masks don't work under most or all real-world conditions. BUT, they do in theory. Therefore "masks worked", and therefore (by implication) surgical and cloth mask mandates were not pseudoscientific or a mistake. And for that performance Anthony Fauci is applauded and lionized, and he goes on and on. And nobody in the tribe pushes back on the ridiculousness of it. They just turn off their brains. And clap. It boggles the mind.

A mess of additions to the Masquerade and Mask Market we announced in Toledo are now live. I walk through them in the video but the purpose is to continue to close the distance between each mask from one another and close the distance between each mask and the Masquerade itself, creating many tunnels to slip between Mask, Masquerade, Observation, Response, and back, burrowing between the links in the network. Changes to the Mask Market: Masks are now sorted by Chroma in a long gradient Masks can now be sorted by Region where its Observation was placed Masks can now be sorted by their adornments such as which Masks have horns or tusks Masks can now be sorted by their materials such as wood, stone, ebony, or feather Reserved Masks for the Exhibition Winners have been given a new Rank A strip of other Mask thumbnails if viewable when you go to each Mask page Sped up the page performance to load much quicker Changes to the Masquerade: All Masks are now viewable within the Masquerade viewer Masks can be viewed by hovering over each, or enlarged and cycled through in a gallery viewer The default ordering of observations is now randomized, making each time you revisit the page surface someone new. Replies are now collapsed helping with legibility Added Rank badging from the Market to the Observation panel (Finalist, Seer, Council, etc) There are some additional changes and tweaks from our Toledo experience which will be making their way in soon as well but I hope you enjoy the changes. My deep thanks to Nifty Gateway Studio for continuing to support this as a living and breathing record of this gathering rather than a “drop” or marketplace and to Lanett Bennett Grant for surfacing and working with us to make it better through her amazing Mask deep dives. The work continues.

[Talking about self-worth and insecurities] 👨🏻‍🚀: I want everyone who has ever felt like they weren't pretty, they weren't attractive, they weren't good looking, they weren't strong enough, they had insecurities, or that they might feel like they're exploding from overthinking. And I'm not talking about one of these six, i'm talking about all of them. If you have ever had a situation where felt all six of these, I want you guys to type 1 into the chat. 👨🏻‍🚀: So, the point of that experiment wasn't to invalidate what you're feeling, because you're valid for feeling that. I think that is a common human emotion that we all have a problem we're dealing with. Our insecurities are the things that make us lash out, make us feel like we're not enough. And the thing about it, is no matter how rich you are, no matter how handsome you are, no matter how pretty you are, no matter how strong you are, no matter how great you are, no matter how intelligent you are, no matter how competent you are, there's always gonna be moments where this comes to you and I think the best thing to think in this situation is that yes i'm feeling this things, to validate yourself. You're not wrong for feeling this way. There's nothing wrong with you. Everyone feels this. 👨🏻‍🚀: But, during those times, i think it is very important to remember the moments in your life where you did feel worthy. Where you felt like you were just enough for that one person that you're talking to. Or you felt like you aced in a certain exam or you did really well in one thing. I think you remember those moments and then you push on for more of those moments so that eventually, in your life, you stop thinking about things that- or situation that made you think you're not worthy and start pondering more , recycling more of things that made you feel worthy. yunamseng?

“The last time that we were touring and stuff, I think touring is quite an isolating experience. And on top of that, when we started touring, it was 2021, so it was kind of like still depths of the pandemic. We were like one of the first tours to go back out. So I think that tour started in that way where it was like, I was really bubbled up even kind of within the tour. And then staying on that tour, we put an album out and it ended up being like two and a half years type time. It's just a long time to be in like a bubble where you're not really spending that much time like in the world around you, other than shows and hotels and stuff. And when I finished, I kind of went off and was spending a lot of time in Italy, and was kind of like having this quiet time, and I was just feeling a lot of my life as I was kind of like, craving like quiet and kind of like private spaces. I was just feeling myself kind of like shut out a lot of the world, “I think, and I think the last couple of years for me was about, you know, there's a lot of things that I think I got used to saying no to, like invites from friends and like maybe a weekend trip or like a birthday party or something. I think I just got used to, you know, if I have a week at home, I don't want to go somewhere else for three days. I just want to stay home, you know. And I think when I got to Italy and was kind of out in this quiet place, I felt like, okay, if I'm going to spend all this time out here and I'm going to keep saying no to everything, I'm just going to like shut myself off from the world. And while parts of that sound appealing, I also like, I love people and I love like being in the world, you know, so it was kind of, I think for me, like there's been both the thing of like learning to set boundaries and stuff is a large part of that has also been learning when not to set boundaries and when to open up. Being intentional with the things that you don't do and being intentional with the things that you do do. So, you know, as a message in the album sleeve, where I said like thanks to all the people who helped me know when to say no and when to say yes. I think both of those have like greatly enriched my life.” - Harry about feeling isolated during his last tour and opening himself up to the world again on Q
