If remaining friends with someone who is willing to meet you half way is this difficult then YOU never looked upon them AS A FRIEND. You thought of them as nothing more than a puppet or toy or pet that was required to mimic YOUR opinions, beliefs, and attitudes or face being tossed away if they angered or bored you. FRIENDS don’t place such litmus tests or restrictions on people they call friends or especially “best friends…and part of you!” Your “friend” is better off without YOU! And it’s good they find this out now rather than at some point in the future when/if you decided to screw them over.

I see this so often. The party of joy and acceptance is only that way if you agree with them. My republican friends and family do not exile you no matter who you vote for. Democrats will get rid of you very quickly though
