These stories are heartbreaking

Many people move abroad & skip certifications or training. While doing my Masters I got over 4 certs & I was starting fresh in IT. There are opportunities but you have to earn them. To get UK experience go for bootcamps or short-term programs that can serve as a UK reference. Also stop chasing every job types, it makes you loose focus. Pick a career & build your path.

Honestly the best advice I can give her and I’m sure everyone has given her is; get the care jobs, put yourself through school even if it’s night school so you can get the UK certification you need to have a better chance and the jobs you want. Yes Care Work isn’t what you want but think of it as a necessary but temporary sacrifice with an end goal in mind. If she doesn’t believe that will work for her and she really wants to, she can come back to Nigeria. Relocating and staying isn’t for everyone, some people do return to have a happier life.

Looking at the train location, it appears she’s around South Yorkshire. 100 applications & no luck? I’m sure she’s not applying correctly. There are plenty of administrative and office jobs in Sheffield. Not everyone here does cares, you just need to know how to apply for jobs.

Coming from someone who has been in that situation before I will advise you to go back home. Never mind what people will say. Your mental health comes first. Going back home is not a death sentence.

There’s always a way out. 📹 amos.vlogs3

I would give myself a 3-year target working in that care sector, raise capital, and move back to Nigeria.

“UK experience “ (very important ) But Guess what she will not come back 😂

Moral lesson - Do not be fooled by the showy display of wealth you see online both home and abroad, many a time it is a facade. My advice- take up whatever jobs you can find do it for a limited time try to recoup some of the money you have lost and relocate back home. It would be hard to get all the money back study route in the UK is one of the most expensive way to come - school fees is very high.

Individuals are wired differently, and not everyone is suited for the care sector. Living abroad isn’t the ultimate goal if you can thrive back home. I’d suggest she returns to prevent a mental health crisis, as she’s aware of her fragile state and knows herself best. Wish her good luck 👍

If you can’t do care none then go back to Nigeria naaa; it is not too late. Please go back

You will regret ur life if u go back 😂 Better keep on pushing Customer service jobs HR Etc are easy to get

If you’re a born again believer, never ever leave where you are to another place except you heard clearly from God. Greener pasture is not a location but God’s direction. Let he who hath an ear hear what the spirit is saying.

Make God test me with this UK too now …

Anybody wey dey UK dey do this care job wey dey send you money at all at all anytime you bill am, na true love the person get for you. No cap But if this lady can consider applying for babysitting jobs. That will be much better for her. She would eventually be grateful for the experience and money when she becomes a mother if she isn’t one yet.

This was me back in 2018 I was making about 700k monthly back then. I left it, sold my car and my properties Changed €12,500 and left for Europe. That was the biggest mistake of my life. I’m glad i took that bold step of returning back to Nigeria during pandemic and transformed my life. Right now I’m happily married and i only travel abroad for holidays. My advice to her is if she can get back her old job in Nigeria, she should pack all her things and return back home. Stressful life abroad will drain you mentally and physically.

When i tell people in whatever you do make sure you are conversant with IT, they think its a joke… my friend who went to UK 2years ago is now working somewhere in Hull City as their Support Engineer and all this i taught him virtually when he complained of being drained by care job which he did for 12months or there about.! Before travelling please be versatile, be open to IT especially and don’t form big man or woman for jobs if not garri go be your bestie.!

If you know her, she can contact me on my X handle and inbox me her details if she’s around London though. Thanks for posting this.

There are opportunities in the UK, but you have to work hard to achieve them. I understand that it's not easy, and it may not be suitable for everyone. However, it's important to be smart, and the people you associate with will have a significant impact on your lifestyle, job, accommodation, and everything else.

Follow ur destiny not other .

The video & the few comments I've read reveal 1 of the major reasons why Africans suffer abroad.

Theres love at home… go home

Since you didn’t ask us for advise before going then No advise for you since you’re there . Go back to your instagram videos and watch there people are adapting to like over there

I can confidently say that in the three years since arriving here, I haven’t done care work. I came as a student. Finding a job is tough without practical skills. What skills do you have? Are they applicable in the UK? Acquire some skills.

A UK national told me this just few weeks ago, i will like to share it here WHILE STUDYING, VOLUNTEER FOR JOBS WITHIN YOUR SKILLSET THAT'S 100% UK EXPERIENCE ON UR CV BEFORE YOU GRADUATE I myself realised this very late. You'll add the experience in your CV as UK experience.

How is this a heartbreaking story? Anyone traveling should get their facts right and also pack in their bag plan 'B'.

If you’re assured of getting a job immediately you get back I’ll advise you come back and properly plan the japa again . You should have already gotten a job over there before leaving Nigeria

@AriwajoyeB I cant advice her cos what i see is someone who is lazy and not ready to work , u got jobs that others are looking and surviving and she is been selective if she takes d care giver jobs and work a month and convert d pounds to naira doesn't she know how many millions in her acc

From her rants, I can tell she had no reason to leave Nigeria in the first place. She only moved with the herds because she had the resources to move. She was doing well in Nigeria before moving. That is the reason she is being picky about the kind of jobs she can do.

I stayed in Dubai for a year right after i graduated from the university. It was Hell. I prefer my country ohh. Earning €2000 remotely is far better than living abroad😅

Hold on to the care job, get more certifications, apply for civil service jobs and other jobs, one day you’ll testify. Sometimes, things don’t work the way we envisaged.

She came to the UK without prior understanding of the journey but based on the social media gram. Your circle will determine how far you will go in the UK. You need to survive 1st before making headway in the country and the Care job is the fastest way to have UK experience.

All these anxiety probably stems from the tales that have been sold her. The typical tale that “the grass is greener on the other side”. She should be gracious to herself. Give herself time and immerse herself in learning and gaining the mandatory experiences. She'll be fine.

Pick up the care job tentatively and keep building your skills for the industry of choice (bills have to be paid). Also, try falling in love and getting married; it comes with clarity and support which opens other doors.
