H.E President John Dramani Mahama has directed purchase of all the 1000 boxes of tomatoes and the 2000 bags of onions produced by smallholders in Asante Akim North for the Senior High Schools in Ashanti Region. The Ashanti Regional CHASS, the Matrons Association and the Ashanti Regional GES have moved this morning to Asante Akim North to purchase the food stuffs from the smallholder farmers. Our deepest appreciation to the MP for Asante Akim North Hon. Ohene Kwame Frimpong, MP, the MCE Hon. Sarah Amoakoa and all for who have made it possible to save the businesses of these vegetable farmers. Big thanks to CHASS National President Rev. Father Steven Owusu Sekyere, the Ashanti Region CHASS Chairma, the GES, the Minister for Education Hon Haruna Iddrisu, the free SHS secretariat for the swift action. If we don't choose a candidate from the Ashanti region for the 2028 elections, it could make the race much more difficult for us." -Presidential candidate aspirant of the NPP, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has called on NPP delegates to consider selecting a well recognized candidate from the Ashanti region to boost their chances of winning the 2028 elections. He explained that his suggestion is not motivated by tribalism, but rather by the natural tendency of people to vote for candidates from their own region.
