Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi sends a message on the 4th anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s murder by the Islamic Regime. In the protests that followed, the regime murdered 551 people, a vast majority of which were young men who had taken to the streets to protect Iranian women against Islamist oppression and to fight for freedom for the entire Iranian nation.

Song of the Future honors the schoolgirl uprising in Iran and the life of 16-year-old Sarina Esmailzadeh, one of thousands of Iranian schoolgirls who took to the streets as part of the Woman, Life, Freedom movement in 2022. These protests were sparked by the death of Jina Mahsa Amini, a young Kurdish-Iranian woman who died in Tehran on 16th September that year from injuries sustained following her arrest by the so-called ‘morality police’ for not wearing a hijab in accordance with government standards. Seven days later, Sarina was beaten by the Iranian security forces and died from her injuries, the regime claiming she killed herself. This is the moment I met one of my heroes for the first time. For years, we wrote about brave Iranian protesters from far away. We spoke about a young woman who lost both eyes after the Islamic Republic shot her for demanding freedom in the streets of Iran. Then one day, I finally held her in my arms. Her name is Farideh. A young Kurdish woman from Sanandaj. Blinded by a regime terrified of free women. Too many people reduce these stories to geopolitics and partisan arguments. But all of that disappears when you stand next to a real human being whose life was shattered simply for wanting freedom and dignity. Thanks to Germany, Farideh escaped the Islamic Republic for one simple reason: to live a normal life. To walk freely without bullets waiting for her. And even after losing both eyes, she still raises her voice for those who cannot speak. Iranian women are wounded. But they do not bow to oppressors. 💔✌️

The Russian mobsters hired by Iranian regime sent to kill me on US soil were sentenced to 25 years in prison. I told the judge: the leader of the Islamic Republic ordered the Revolutionary Guards to kill me. Now this U.S. court can send a message to that terrorist regime by giving these killers the longest sentence and standing with millions of Iranians who want freedom. We must end transnational repression .
