Today is the release day of the Star Fox remake. Unfortunately, it’s coming out a few days later in Korea, but it still brings back a lot of memories of when the original Star Fox 64 was released on the Nintendo 64. Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64 were incredible games, but Star Fox 64 was also a huge hit when it launched. Unlike its predecessor’s simple linear progression, it introduced all-range mode, allowing players to freely fly around a 3D space during certain missions and boss battles. This made the gameplay much more dynamic and varied. It also added a new 4-player versus mode, which was a lot of fun with friends. The graphics were impressive for the time, and the full voice acting helped make the game far more immersive. Most importantly, Star Fox 64 was the first Nintendo game to support the Rumble Pak. What is now considered a standard feature in game controllers essentially started here. The shock of feeling controller vibration for the first time was far beyond anything I had imagined. I pre-ordered my copy a long time ago and have been eagerly waiting for it to arrive. Hopefully it gets here soon! Has anyone else ordered this game? 😆

It's really weird to see tourists trying to claim Fox as a gay icon and other cringe shit like that Star Fox is an IP from the 90's and early 2000's... Fox McCloud was literally designed to represent all the tropes of action heroes of the era (what these people call "toxic masculinity") In Star Fox Adventures alone, Fox McCloud: > Listens to heavy metal > A capitalist (only saves people if paid) > A guns guy that shoots first, asks questions later > Makes the natives speak his language > Wants to bone the hot native chicks of the planet he discovered > Reminds the girl that he's the man who is making things work, actually > His bros encourage him to bone the hot chick

Sweet - "Fox on the Run" (1975) Follow @classicrockmomentsinhistory "Fox on the Run" first appeared as a track on Sweet's third album, 'Desolation Boulevard', in November 1974 (50 years ago this week). The original album version is an earlier recording than the famous single release and sounds quite different. The more familiar version of "Fox on the Run" (heard in this clip) was recorded in 1975 and released as a single - this re-recording also featured on the US version of 'Desolation Boulevard' (released by Capitol in July 1975 and featuring a significantly altered track listing). All four members of Sweet share songwriting credits for "Fox on the Run". The band also produced the single version themselves (while former songwriter for the band Mike Chapman produced the album version). Sweet had several top 10 singles in various countries around the world, but along with "The Ballroom Blitz", "Fox on the Run" was a career-defining song for the band.

By popular demand, I redesigned the FOX scorebug they used during the Super Bowl last night in 30 minutes. I did this while keeping original aspects of the scorebug like the first down and play clock being above the team labels. However, I made it better by changing the font, using 3D team logo's, and implementing original FOX font colors in past scorebugs while also implementing some of the Super Bowl theme colors.
