By focusing on the video that is of the consecration and making it a mockery because people don’t like particular vestments, this is a sacrilegious act as far as I’m concerned. Shame.

You can see them especially during the feast celebrations of Mar Sabor and Mar Afroth. Yet the new Orientalists and the modernists keep lecturing Eastern Catholics on how we are supposed to delatinize.

Yes, the Bishop is wrong, and here’s why: It is not suitable for a Catholic Cleric to engage in sports/play of any kind while fully vested, as liturgical vestments like the chasuble and stole are sacred symbols set apart for divine worship, not for secular use. Canon Law 1171 emphasizes the need for reverence toward sacred objects, and wearing them during sports risks causing scandal. It diminishes the significance of acting in persona Christi and treats the holy as common. While a priest may wear a cassock or clerical attire during recreation, vestments should be removed after Mass before engaging in any physical activity the sacred belongs at the altar.
