1st night in London after moving here in the late '80s, went into a Fish and Chip shop and asked for Smoked Cod and Chips - "you wot?" - I said it again but slower - "you wot?" - I said it in my best English accent - "you wot?" - then dawned on me they don't do Smoked Cod here
