Working in TV/film production, I can bet you the costume designer probably promised him those suits before discussing it with the producers or studio. All wardrobe, props, set dressing, etc., are owned by the studio unless items were provided by sponsors for product placement. What a studio usually does at the end of a show is hold a sale of the items they don’t intend to reuse on another production. They’re typically marked down about 50%, with cast and crew getting first access before it’s opened to the public.
