Afghan smuggler showing off his ARC. He’s now officially in the asylum system and will be living and eating comfortably at your expense for the foreseeable. He arrived here at the beginning of May. We were told when the Illegal Migration Bill received royal assent (20/07/2023) and became the Illegal Migration Act, there would be no grants of asylum to anyone who arrived by small boat on or after this date. If that’s the case why are they issuing Asylum Application Registration Cards? More lies from the Tories. Imagine that!

This is me speaking AGAINST the EU Migration Pact. Sinn Féin has opposed the pact from the beginning and we will speak against it tomorrow. The EU Migration Pact is not in Ireland's interests. That is why I spoke out against it, voted against it and why we brought forward more than 50 amendments to the International Protection Bill which locked the pact in Irish law. Below is my speech during the first debate on it, two years ago, setting out why Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the Greens were wrong to force this through. It is wrong to hand decision making on migration over to the EU. These are decisions that are best made in Ireland so that we have a system that is fair, managed and enforced and that people can have confidence in. Tomorrow Sinn Féin will call for a special debate in the Dáil on the pact and TDs will get to vote on whether it takes place. We need transparency and accountability.

Britain was 99% White in 1951 and had been overwhelmingly White European for well over a thousand years. White British is now 74% in England & Wales. The change is happening fast.
