a screenshot from openai's internal slack leaked last night, and sam altman is telling his own staff to stop comparing gpt-6 astra to the free models "in writing." when the ceo bans the comparison, the comparison is already over. the leaked line is one sentence: do not benchmark astra against open weights in any channel. you do not ban a fight you are winning. altman just told 4,000 employees the free model caught up, and one of them told the internet. here is the comparison he did not want on the record, and it runs local for about $6 instead of $400: -> pull an open model like grok or kimi k3, the exact ones altman just barred his own team from benchmarking, and load it onto one nvidia card -> point cursor, cline and every app at localhost, and none of them notice they stopped paying for astra -> keep the heavy jobs on a rented gpu by the hour and the daily work fully offline for the cost of power -> your $200 chatgpt seat and your $200 claude seat both go dark, and no memo can put that back here is the part they will fight me on: openai and anthropic are not banning the benchmark because it is wrong, they are banning it because it is right. the day a lab tells its own people to stop measuring, the $200 stops buying a better model and starts buying the silence around a tie. drop your $400 stack to a $6 local model and run the comparison altman deleted from his own slack. the full benchmark is in the article below, save it before it gets "clarified."

Yesterday Claude filed my overdue German VAT Tax statements for Q3 2025. I used Claude Cowork and the Claude Chrome extension, no programming tricks, completely off the shelf stuff from Anthropic. I started Cowork with a project folder and put pdfs of my invoices and receipts in there and asked it to prepare the accounts for each quarter. Then I logged in to the German tax portal (Elster) and asked it to find and fill out the relevant forms and submit them. I recorded the last part of the process, then asked Claude to redact my personal information from the video and speed it up 3x so I could share it. Here it is, Claude does my taxes, Germany edition

i keep telling people to build this and they nod politely and never do it... andrej karpathy posted how to fix this a while ago, and everyone just keeps working the old way the dumb thing is this... you pay to teach claude the same lessons over and over, every chat is a fresh amnesia patient, every contradiction it catches evaporates the second you close the tab, and you accept this like it's just how ai works 1. one folder is a graveyard for originals that nobody edits, another folder is claude's active memory that only claude writes to, a third folder is a two-page rulebook that keeps claude from confusing them 2. a raw file gets read the day it arrives and then it's done, claude never touches it again, everything it needed is already extracted into wiki pages with the source cited right there 3. every time claude notices your new answer clashes with your old one, it doesn't pick a side, it writes both with dates, and from then on it treats you like someone who might be wrong the raw folder is a museum... the wiki is the actual working brain full breakdown is in the article below

My favorite way of interacting with Claude Code is to have it generate static HTML files as outputs (reports, explorations, code structure, mockups etc.) I wanted to iterate on the file by commenting in browser and having Claude update the output live. So, I built this Claude Skill👇 How it works: - Install Claude Code skill (ask it to clone repo) - Build an HTML page for anything (e.g. research coding agents and generate HTML report) - Ask it to make the page interactive That's it. CC will launch a localhost server and allow you to then leave comments on the page itself and once it updates, will give you a tour of changes. It's like Google Docs kind of comments/iteration but for HTML pages.
