Coming across a flooded road years ago, a man redirecting the traffic told me that the air intake for the engine is above the wheels. If you let water go that high up, the car dies. Don’t know anything about cars, but I’m always very conscious of that, would never attempt that!

Yes water more than a third of the way up your wheel is inadvisable, especially at speed You might be lucky but it’s not worth the risk
