The Mom looks absolutely miserable on her wedding day. It looks like it took her a decade to find comfort & happiness. The Stockholm Syndrome finally kicked in. Arranged marriages are awful, that's probably why they moved to America, for their daughter.

She looks very unhappy in the wedding photos which is fairly common for obvious reasons. I’d be very curious to hear what her answer to a question like “if you could go back in time and talk to the girl in the photos what would you say?” Anyway. Glad she seems happy.

if it makes sense in their culture, it’s not my place to tell them it doesn’t from my cultural perspective. arranged marriages by families makes a lot of sense. the people who have known you your whole life and are looking out for your best interests should be able to set you up
