I've dated Eastern European women who move to New York City and say "I grew up with ugly Communist uniformity, but I love America because this city is so beautiful" and I'm like, uh... okay... but if you thought the Communists were bad, you should see some of our newer suburbs. New York City is beautiful, but most of our suburbs are as uniform as any Communist society.

Why didn't they plant any trees at all??? No parks anywhere, playgrounds, no public transport? How is this meant to function as a livable space in the slightest?

Going to guess they have some mega HOA there that dictates every aspect of what you can do to your house or yard. Looks more like some kind of encampment than a place I'd want to live.
