George Michael did a concert for the minors strike, & one for the hospital staff that cared for his mum before she died. Also cash donations for other causes.

George was famously a socialist. He was supportive of fairly radical ideas as us older gays who marched for our basic human rights were. The fact that he had money didn’t deter him from his beliefs. He used it to help ppl. He understood the privilege he had & his responsibilities

This is why I have him on my wall. I love his music, but what a lovely man with wonderful politics and great judge of character.

Always loved George. He was such a genuine and thoughtful soul. Very dearly missed.

Everyone knew George knew. Best 'celebrity' I've ever met. Wholesome and real in every respect. I miss him.

I remember watching this, it wasn’t hidden, but at the time, George wasn’t fashionable, his Shoot the Dog video was largely received with a meh. He was always politically left, Wham played at miners benefits. So, so missed.😔
