What comes to mind are the statements spoken very often the last 15-20 years: "I don't need no man" and "Toxic Masculinity." This is what happens when boys are raised in that environment. I was raised to open doors, pull a chair out, walk on the outside.

Yeah- especially the pregnant lady carrying all the stuff with a toddler while the guy was just walking in back. My husband or son would have stepped in to help her.

They are males, not men. There are rules of being a gentleman. For example, there are 2 times a man should walk before a lady. Down a staircase to help catch her if she is wearing heels and stumbles. Second, through a revolving door so she doesn't have to push. Southern stuff!

I appreciate seeing posts like this because it reminds me that there are still men out there who value respect and kindness. It's encouraging to know that some families are raising their sons to be thoughtful and considerate, even if it's not always what we see around us.
