I love Memphis but the Westin is a horrible hotel. It is run down and nasty. The attached visit was from my stay on 3/30/26. The last time I will stay there. No hot water. I was told by the staff that the hotel is 30 years old and I should expect that.

It’s not the hotel it’s the people who live there who for some weird reason love crime. I grew up on the outskirts (Jackson - we’re half of the city is baby Memphis) and Memphis has always been violent and run by corrupt criminals most famously the Ford family. Deeply criminal going back decades upon decades. Recently the president and the governor sit in extra personnel to clean up crime and actually put criminals in jail (in Memphis if you even get arrested you are quickly released even if it was murder – guess what race most of the victims are) and for a brief. Memphis is becoming moderately safe and people in the hood can live a regular life. If they could maintain this, wealthy people and businesses would come into the city and it would be enjoyable. Instead, Memphis Democrats absolutely hate that criminals are being arrested and as soon as the president/governor stop they will go back to voting for the same old criminals. Memphis doesn’t get to have anything nice because they literally shit on everything they can. It’s crazy because even dogs don’t shit where they sleep but Memphis does.
