They really put Take On Me over this bro LMAO
Комментарии: 44

They at least reconsidered adding this though but I won’t lie it’s kinda funny

He He, BANANA!

It is actually legitimately offensive that they replaced this music.

Friendly reminder that Swanky was murdered in that scene and nobody gave two shits about it.

im excited for egg planet to be replaced by some 80s pop song in the upcoming mario galaxy movie

I desperately DESPERATELY hope the Galaxy movie will not have any license songs in the same vain as this bc the fact the higher ups would put Take On Me instead of this freaking banger is just… why just why???

I just don’t like the idea of the composers going through the effort of making scores just for it to not be used

What the hell was Lupin doing here

MY GOAT

FREAKY TOAD?

I want to agree with you but Take On Me is such a banger lol

IT IS A BANGER I AGREE

I like how they were afraid no one would feel nostalgia while watching the movie Despite Mario being nostalgic on its own

Whats the point of adding licensed music like this its not like its mere existence is gonna get people to watch the movie especially if they don’t even know its in there 😭 At least give its addition a much deeper meaning beyond “Mario from 80s so add 80s songs”

And if I said Take On Me works better?

Watch them play some shooting stars type shit when Mario uses a launch star for the first time

They really boutta put fireflies over Mario shooting out the launch star for the first time

At least they didn't use Holding out for a He- Oh wait

@m1cioo

What do you mean, put over it? Is this an edit, something from a DVD, or what?

I like that song! it was so catchy and it had such a good beat it made me wanna dance

Mario's Galaxy 1+2 soundtrack is so powerful to be replaced by unfitting pop songs, I really hope they don't fumble it

Galaxy has one of the most iconic osts of all time so I really hope they realize that for the new movie

That and Mario’s training was replaced for “holding out for a hero” when Brian Tryler’s “1-1” composition was perfect as it was for a training montage

Universal & Illumination could not help themselves. "Ugh, I'm sorry Brian Tyler but if we don't put another recognizable pop song in the middle, how are broader audience is gonna get into it!"

I hope that’s not the attitude they have for the galaxy movie but I feel it’s gonna be more or less the same LMAO

If they're gonna to find more license songs, they better learn what Sonic 3 did. In that film, they've chosen 99 Red Balloons, Neon Lights, Firestarter, End of the Line, Wouldn't It Be Nice, London Town, & lastly Galvanize. All banger songs placed appropriately.

I really hate it when bone-headed suits step in and add pop-culture music where it doesn't belong. Since the movie made a billion dollars, he'll pat himself on the back and believe that his decision to cut original scores was the right one, and then do it again in the sequel.

yeah... BUT CAN WE HAVE A MOMENT FOR OUR KING HERE?!

He was fr just chillin and he got done dirty LMAO

LIKE PLEASE WE NEED LIKE A MINI ANIMATED SHORT OF OUR SWANKY!😭😭

No shit, Take on Me is more recognizable to general audiences. You all know that Nintendo and Hollywood chase profits over everything. Integrity be damned.

Is there a version of the film that cuts out the license music?

Ngl, it is quite amusing that Swanky finally came back after 27 years, only to brutally die just seconds later to the tune of Take On Me.

This just tells you how much they have to fight to just to get some their own songs in the movie

Unfortunately

it’s probably bc in most cases audiences would not pay attention to or care for the “generic film soundtrack” bgm, pop culture music is more effective at catching the attention of a general audience

If the Zelda movie is treated like this I think I might hiya myself.

its crazy because they’ll hire 30+ people to compose big band donkey kong country theme, but then one editor/director they’ll hire will decide “no actually lets just insert take on me instead” and invalidate all the effort the musicians did to orchestrate that

I laughed lol plus he survived

Because executives prefer celebrities and music instead of respecting the source material.

Let's Hope The Mario Galaxy Movie won't do it...

One of those scenes where it’s extremely obvious the music was chosen after the scene was animated. The most Illumination part of the movie besides that stupid dog sequence.

Bv
