Andy Burnham makes a strong point about local control over public transport costs. Keeping fares capped at £2 can really help people in Greater Manchester, especially when so many are feeling the pinch. It's a reminder that local leadership can make a difference! 🚌💷

@BBCPolitics I wonder if @BusAndTrainUser would agree with me; Andy can only do this because of more money he is getting from the tax payer (us). It’s no different really from a private business company using those nasty (shareholders) profits to buy new buses for one of their areas in the UK

Tory MP response to the Budget

Take note @NCT_Buses

As before under a Tory government it seems the Labour mayors are the only ones who get it and are willing to take the right "tough decisions"

So he is saying that other mayors not doing this suck?

Do remember there are other councils outside of London and Greater Manchester which control their bus services. Not many but they could be worth talking to as well, to show smaller places can do it too!

The BBC is a propoganda bus

Andy Burnham for PM !!

A 30% increase?? Central government interfering yet again.
