Yes Justin. There is a fairly large community for it too with rollback netcode using "tango" and 100% save files so you can just straight into PVP. Check out the N1GP website or look up their streams on youtube. Game is really really fun.

Competitive Battle Network is some crazy shit. A lot of mechanics are basically ripped straight from fighting games, like spacing, combos, and counters.

Oh they used to have big events when the games first came out! Some of the NPCs in the later EXE games are inspired by the ppl from these events! EXE 6's has a steady PvP scene too, like 3rd Strike, the KoFs, and Fatal Fury Special. N1GP has insane resources for the games.

I used to do a lot of pvp back in early 2010s with the game running at 50% speed on a half broken emulator, nowadays the community even have their own rollback netcode implementation BN's pvp is very deep and has more things in common with fighting games than you'd expect

From what I understand those attacka that dim.the screen and stop time can be countered by other attacks that do the same thing . For example he coulda used "Blast man" then the other guy coulda countered with "invisible" so he woulda become unhittable BEFORE blast man fires.
