I absolutely hated this remake. In the original Gort hurt no one. The alien message was “go ahead and kill yourselves, we don’t care, but bring that shit out into the galaxy and we will stop you.” The remake alien was an ecoterrorist exterminating humanity.

They sacrificed the guy for their science test but it only made things worse. The robot went wild and tore down the whole stadium.
