It is with great sadness that I share with you the passing of Britt Allcroft. The Allcroft-Wright family has asked me to bring this news to the Thomas fandom. A full obituary will be released in the London Times later today. The family is currently in mourning and asks that their privacy be respected at this time. Britt was an adoring mother and wife. A visionary producer. She brought so much joy and happiness to people everywhere during her time on Earth. Over the years of knowing Britt, we developed a close connection. It was truly a privilege to have her as both a mentor and a friend, and I’m so glad that so many fans were able to meet her at the New York screening of “An Unlikely Fandom”. It was an absolute honor to have her in our documentary, and she has since remained a vocal supporter of our cause. I think I can speak for the entirety of the fandom when I say that all of us will deeply miss her. Without her, so many of us would never have met. As a way to honor Britt's legacy, her family as asked that you consider making a charitable donation to your local chapter of the ASPCA in Britt's name. Literacy learning begins early. Check out this sweet little one as she “reads” a board book independently in her crib. Her language is not yet conventional. But consider all the knowledge she’s putting on display. First, she knows that books contain meaning and that they can be read aloud - just like her parents do with her. She’s got an understanding (even if her book is upside down) that as stories progress one turns the pages from left to right. 🌿 Princess Catherine's Mother Nature series is her art, an expression of herself and her journey. So of course it's subjective. Not everyone will find it interesting, or relevant. That's okay. She's allowed to share a personal project without it being outwards directed activism. She shared that nature had been her sanctuary. She spoke of renewal, resilience and growth. Of family, friends, and the joy in fleeting moments and shared experiences. She talked of self reflection, of letting go of what is no longer needed. That beauty can be found in change, in permanence, and in letting go - and that love can be what holds us and guides us. And to hold on to hope while we endure change. She talked of the stillness that helped her see the deepest parts of herself. I first met Mrs. Constance Iloh in Atlanta when I traveled there with Mr. Peter Obi. From the very first day, she took us around as though we were family. Every place we visited, every engagement we had, she stood beside us, warm, attentive, thoughtful, and gracious. She was everything one could ask for in a friend: sincere, selfless, and deeply humane. But it was not until the AMAC election journey that I truly understood the depth of her character. She returned home and immersed herself completely. She walked through communities. She visited markets. She sat with families. She consulted, listened, engaged, not as an outsider, not as a spectator, but as someone who believed that nation building begins with touching lives one by one. She gave her strength, her time, her money, her voice, pouring herself into a cause that was bigger than any individual ambition. And then, on the very day of the election, while many of us were consumed with the pressures of the moment, Mrs. Constance suffered a personal tragedy, the loss of her husband. Yet she said nothing me or any of us. She carried her pain in silence. She allowed the process to conclude. She ensured that the work, the people, and the mission were not distracted by her grief. What an evening. What an inaugural Enhanced Games event. Honestly, if I could have scripted it, I could not have imagined a more nail-biting storyline - tension building all night, and then that unbelievable release at the end. I have to admit: I was close to a heart attack. And then I cried tears of joy when Kristian Gkolomeev won the Men’s 50m Freestyle in 20.81s, setting a new world record. He takes home a $1,000,000 bonus, a $250,000 first-place prize - and reclaims the 50m Freestyle world record. Think about what a world record actually means. It means you are better at something than roughly 8 billion other people on this planet. Let that sink in. I know some people expected us to break (many) more world records tonight. But as always in science: baseline matters. Enhancements bring out the best in you - but they are not a magic bullet. Kristian was already one of the best clean swimmers in the world - and then he added the icing on the cake to reach entirely new heights. And needless to say: the air gets thinner at the very top. Especially in the shortest events, breaking a world record has become harder and harder over the decades. And then there is the unquantifiable magic of live sport. It does not matter how good you looked in training camp. It all comes down to that one moment. A few athletes who were world-record contenders had injuries today. Others had stage fright. That is real sport. We have many more years ahead of us to break world records - one by one - and we will. We are just getting started. But world records are not even my favorite part. While breaking world records will always be one of the core themes of the Enhanced Games, what inspires me most is something else: the human drive to become the best version of ourselves. At every stage and time in life. Tonight, 22 personal bests were broken. And in many cases, these were not personal bests from last month or last year, but from many years ago. Again - let that sink in. Take Megan Romano: She set her previous personal best in the 50m freestyle (24.98) on July 16, 2013 - and tonight, nearly 13 years later, she broke it with a 24.55. She had not competed internationally in almost a decade, and at 35 years old she is now better than she was in her early twenties after only a few weeks of enhanced training. Megan defied aging in spectacular fashion and became a role model for all of us on how to age better - or maybe even how not to age at all – with the power and support of medical enhancements. Or take Emily Barclay - an athlete who had previously competed only at NCAA level. Her 50m freestyle time tonight would have been enough to win bronze in Paris. And it earned her $375,000. A true Cinderella story - made possible not by a fairy godmother, but by science. I could go on and on - and I will. Because we want to tell all of these incredible, deeply personal stories. World records are these almost mythical, elusive numbers. But winning the race against ourselves, against aging, against doubt, against the people who told us what is supposedly impossible - that is what truly inspires me. This little girl has been coming to this neighbor’s house and trashing her stuff. She pulls out her water hose, knocks over her planters, but one day, the neighbor is home and follows her to her house. As the little girl’s mom stands outside with her daughter, it’s the neighbor making her apologize. Why isn’t the mother making her? The mother didn’t even apologize and she’s standing there fixing her daughter’s hair. I think the neighbor handled it as well as can be. She was very polite. Ms. Destiny is a lovely lady and an angel. But something is off with the little girl. The mother seems off as well. Something isn’t right at that house. Most guys do not realize how dirty, naughty, and sexual women are. The average woman is way dirtier than the average man.
