They shouldn’t have deleted this scene 🥀 I don’t think Dudley ever hated Harry ..he was influenced by his parents 💔

Dudley was literally smart even at his tender age

Dudley might well have hated Harry right up until the Dementor attack in book 5. I'd have to double check book 6 but I don't think he treats Harry poorly from then on. I think nearly dying - and realizing Harry saved him - opened his eyes a bit.

Petunia didn’t deserve a redemption scene after what she did to Harry; Dudley deserved his scene because he treated Harry better after he saved his life.

Yeah, that's why I couldn't fully hate Dudley, right? I mean, his parents were really laying it on thick, and they're narcissists. I love when Harry calls him BigD. But don't get me wrong. I thought Dudley was annoying as heck. But he was just a bully. He got over it, when Harry saved him, from the Dementors. He realized, that after all he had done to Harry, he could've just saved himself. Harry shouldn't want to save him, the fact that he did, changed Dudley's life.

I don’t know why they thought this would make up for what the Dursley did to Harry, but Dudley and the other hand was influenced by his parents so I did like the scene where he redeemed himself and they both get together every once in a while with the families after Harry Potter

They should have kept these scenes in the film, they make the Dursleys seem human.

No dudley definitely hated harry having just listened to the first couple of books, i am yet to dive into the next few but i think he just grew up, matured, realised his parents were pretty bloody hateful and appreciated that harry saved his life at one point
