For more takes on PM:

Her follow-up response:

If i could go back in time and stop them from posting this, the mass layoffs never would have happened

But … like I often really think this

The issue isn't even the pool working thing, work wherever you please as long as you do the work. The issue here is how she outlines what a PM do, as it is people don't get what our job is and this just makes it sound like a glorified overpaid admin & pmo. No talk of strategy

It literally sounds like a cheerleader. Very unfortunate

Worse - they flaunt it as some form of ultimate cool. I'm all for remote work. I've done it myself for ~9 years and it works great for me. That said, I increasingly see people, who seem infantile in their approach to it.

Yeah, it’s the flaunting that makes it worse. It seems easy, a cheerleader, vs a serious thing.

The phrase “I am over…” makes it sound like an admin role. Which is what I presume they were doing based on their location. Maybe they are doing it right. For example, I’ve never been on a stand up in a pool before

I honestly didn’t think twice of this video when it came out out but the hellstorm of PM firings this initiated from tech companies was truly insane. It’s like it set off an alarm bell for CEOs and VCs. Their descriptions of the role certainly didn’t help.
