Meanwhile in actual reality, the President has reiterated his belief that walls don't work, but that the resources allocated before his administration still had to be used exclusively in the manner they were allocated, because Biden wasn't president in 2019.

@lhfang It's a failure of our entire political establishment. The immigration system should have been completely overhauled decades ago. It should be streamlined so that well intentioned people can easily come here and pursue their dreams (with little tolerance for arriving illegally).

On day one of President Trump's second term, he signed Executive Order 14159 which allowed Border Patrol to turn people away at the border and let people seeking asylum remain in Mexico until their claim could be heard. President Trump signed a proclamation declaring a national emergency at the southern border and directed resources for a border wall. He stopped the deadly catch and release policies and saved countless American lives in doing so. Our country didn't new a new law to secure the border: we only needed a new President.
