As Driggers attempted to steal a vehicle, multiple Good Samaritans stepped in. Lecompte approached the suspect and was seen opening fire before the vehicle backed up and then accelerated forward. Lecompte was struck by the car, transported to a hospital, and later pronounced dead. Authorities identified the suspect as 28-year-old Ricky Alex Driggers, who fled in the stolen vehicle and was later apprehended. Driggers was charged with first-degree murder, attempted robbery, larceny of a motor vehicle, and felony fleeing to elude law enforcement. He remains held without bond. Lecompte worked for North Carolina’s Department of Transportation for 16 years and was well-regarded by colleagues and community members. The tragic incident was captured on video and circulated widely, prompting calls for accountability and conversation on the risks faced by bystanders.

Incorrect. I’m pretty sure the guy that shot four kill shots into the cabin of the truck will go to prison and the other might never be the same and was probably running on adrenaline here. If both guys are even still alive, LMAO.
