They're called swamp puppies for a reason.🐊😂

They are very family oriented! Parents are VERY protective...and I think rarely far away!

If i had to take a guess, not a mom/baby, but a bull/female. Probably a subadult female just reaching the size to begin breeding familiarizing herself with a local bull gator. They do engage in snout rubbing like this as part of courtship. I could be wrong though.

That alligator is more cuddly than my ex.

They guard their young like a lion guards. It’s young. They have to be careful with the bowl. The bowl will eat the babies. Some mama is very protective. I live in Florida. I have several ponds and they all have gazers and you don’t go in the pond when it’s mating season or when mama has babies if you see a baby gator, you better look real close cause mama is not far away

Cutie until they take a chomp! 🤭

They are related to birbs after all... gotta be careful of the species though... Some of the males are cannibals... so while the females are social and protect the babies they also have to fight off the males to keep them from eating the babies...

Swamp puppies my ass, jump in the water and see how much affection they show before they eat yo ass

They're even more cute when you get closer and jump into the water with em 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷😘😘😊🤭🤭🤭💕🩷💕🩷💕🩷💕 #adorable

I've seen them carry small mammals in their mouth and onto the safety of the stomach. Very caring and loveable creatures.

the big gator: stop you're ruining our image

Sweet beasts <3

Sees spawning behavior, awh the momma and her baby. Kill me

And then the little one became a snack.

@KairyuCrocodile

I mean Steve irwin showed this behaviour in saltwater crocodiles between male and females so the fact alligators do it too is not surprising

Even Democrats need love.

Alligators literally show no types of affection ever for any reason not we seem to babies which that one small one is not way larger than a baby

Yes, me neither.

Best reptile, My personal opinion.

I thought they ate each other.......

Must be well trained swamp dogs.

First seeing this behavior wow

Probably more like protection. The males will eat them

Only to their own offspring they actively seek out and eat other alligator's offspring

They don't,,,, the big one ate the little guy off camera .... 🤪🤓🤓

You are what you eat...

Great point!

And that explains A.I. in a nutshell

The way Mom's and Babies are normally if not insects or insane.
