TEXAS – Governor Greg Abbott has issued a state designation labeling the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as foreign terrorist organizations. The move authorizes additional enforcement actions by the state and prohibits the groups and their affiliates from purchasing or acquiring land in Texas. In his announcement, Abbott said the designation reflects concerns about alleged support for terrorism and efforts to undermine legal systems.
