thinking about how ilya couldn’t really remember what shane said to him the first time they met but something ilya does remember is shane’s warm hand when he shook his. that warmth is something that stayed with ilya all these years. shane brought warmth into ilya’s world

thinking about ilya finally telling shane about his mother and shane holding the man he loves, comforting him and trying not to cry

cornplating but love the visual metaphor where ilya is struggling with his lighter until he meets shane and then the flame immediately catches

Oh nothing just thinking about in ep4 Ilya holding his hand out begging Shane to stay and him walking out. Then in ep5 Shane offering his hand to Ilya in the hospital and him immediately taking it 😭

the music intensifying once ilya realizes that if miles is there, rose is there & if rose is there, shane is there. shane realizing the same when he sees ilya’s teammates. the music fading out once shane sees ilya, then shifting to the reverb-y re-mix gagged is an understatement

When people say Shane doesn’t love Ilya, but here he is, asking with tears in his eyes if Ilya wants Shane to go away, because he was ready to sacrifice his own happiness just so Ilya could have safe, “normal” life with a woman

ilya congratulating him on his victory but shane gets pissed thinking he’s just making fun of him just for ilya to then get angry and shane feeling hurt… the misunderstanding of this entire conversation makes me want to scream and sob for the both of them

going bonkers over the switch from ilya being amused watching shane fold his clothes to completely losing his breath after shane starts undressing himself

once again thinking about the implications of this scene in particular because it absolutely breaks my heart that even at this stage in his life, shane feels the need to justify that he couldn’t “help” his queerness

"If anybody wanted to pay attention, they would see exactly what was going on, so Ilya is protecting Shane in a way" ilya puts shane before everything even himself he holds him so dear that even his fear becomes a way of keeping shane safe

I just can't stop thinking about this part. the way Ilya recognizes Rose's friend and realizes Shane is probably there. the way Shane recognizes Ilya's teammates and realizes Ilya is probably there. how they both start looking for each other. the music. Jacob Tierney YOUR MIND!

we always talk about how baby and adorable shaney is here, but i always pay extra attention to the anxiety in ilya’s eyes, the hard swallows, shane immediately wanting to hold him when he sees that ilya is scared… ilya is always baby☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️

I love how the series starts with Ilya alone & ends with him finding family. How Shane is brave enough to introduce himself to Ilya, then brave enough to tell his family the truth. From the first line “Ilya Rozanov?” to the last being “Love you!” this show is a feat of artistry.
