Thinking about the Keyblade lore introduced in Kingdom Hearts and how some Disney characters know about it like the legend of the Keyblade with King Triton, Genie with the Keyhole, and even Jack Skellington taking an interest in the Heartless.

I like the idea that some god-like figures in the Disney worlds are aware of the wider cosmology of the KH universe. Like King Triton knows this (he probably knew the Chi Keyblade War broke everything) and Hades I think knows of multiple underworld worlds like Coco

Honestly kh1 had the best integration of Disney worlds into its lore and story and it makes me sad that no other game has come close since. Like that moment with triton is genuinely jawdropping and makes the lore and worldbuilding feel so much alive.

Not to mention how in Wreck It Ralph world, we get Ralph and Felix being hostile because they see you as going turbo and one of the cy-bugs absorbing a heartless.

I'm more wondering why Triton had such negative view towards Keyblade Wielders until Sora helped Ariel defeating Ursula. Has this ever been explored in X?

Shame they never go anywhere with it.

I remember when BBS was announced, I thought they were going to include Atlantica and show some story about King Triton and the reason why he doesnt trust Keyblade wielders.

Its part of why I think KH1 was the strongest entry, they set up all these interesting ideas regarding the keyblade BBS was a massive disappointment specifically because the writers couldn't be assed to remember Triton somehow knowing how dangerous the keyblade is and follow up

Sadly, this was the last time the original voice actor voiced King Triton. He passed away sometime after the release of The Little Mermaid 2. Jim Cummings voiced King Triton in both TLM: Ariel's Beginning and in Gameloft's Disney Speedstorm.

KH has infinite potential that is sandbagged by Disney not allowing them to do anything interesting, like with all of their properties

This scene always made me think that there was a secret Illumnati group of Disney Royals that knew about the goings-on of the universe. Even the Princesses in Hollow Bastion speak like they know more than just what's beyond their world.

While all the plot going on is cool and all, I really wish they would go more into how the dinsey and square characters know and react to keyblade users around them. Surely Maleficent wasnt the only villain that tried to control the heartless

I would like to think King Triton can be however old he needs to be. King Triton heard of the Keyblade Wars, whether he was around when it happened or heard it from Keyblade users afterwards. In his over protective mind knowing that the Keyblade is a great weapon like his Trident

Jack takes an interest in the heartless because they are spooky and would spice up the Halloween celebration. Before team sora called them heartless he had no clue what they were.

What annoyed me about this, is they never followed up on it. Birth by sleep didnt go to Altantica. Neither did X or union cross. So their knowledge of such things doesnt make sense.

This just proves that the “no one can know about other worlds” rule is just stupid.

It honestly made sense as I got older that Triton knew about it. He may not be omniscient, but he’s technically a god according to the musical lore that’s now canon.

It saddens me how the subsequent games mostly just rehash the same story from their respective movies, while the original story emphasis on the Keyblade lore is mostly pushed aside.

Is it ever explained why he didn't want Sora sealing the Keyhole? I feel like if you know about the broader cosmology your first reaction to seeing a keyblade should be "About damn time, move your ass and close off my world already"

A bit unrelated but, Skellington is a prime example of how poorly thought out the "evil darkness" trope is within Kingdom Hearts.
