An important moment occured during the religious heads statement at the 15th Tibetan Religious Conference organsied by Tibet.Net Kyabgon Sakya Gongma Trizin, Gyana Vajra Rinpoche shared the message that on the reincarnation of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Dalai Lama has the final say, affirming that he shall adhere, follow and respect the decision taken by the Dalai Lama here. This was further reiterated by the different heads and representative of the various traditions/sects of Tibetan Buddhism yesterday. During his statement, the 43rd Sakya Gonma Trizin becomes emotional when stating how it is difficult to talk about the #reincarnation of the Dalai Lama, especially when he is present with us now🙏 The Sakya Trizin (Sakya Throne-Holder) is among the earliest tradition/sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Its line of succession unlike reincarnation is passed on from family and is tied to the royal family of Khön. It is a lineage that is more than 900 years old since its 1st monastery was founded in #Sakya (a region in Tibet) in 1073 by Khön Konchog Gyalpo🙏 This lineage of learned Buddhist masters governed Tibet during the 13th and 14th century with its Throne-Holder even advising, mentoring, guiding and teaching the Mongol Emperor Kublai Khan.
