For 400 MILLION years Carbon Dioxide was 2000ppm & higher Life flourished during these 400 MILLION years creating the largest onland animals ever seen Almost all life died 10,000 years ago at the height of the last Ice Age with CO2 at 180ppm CO2 is food for life

Not at all. Fundamental inaccuracy in his basic representation. Most of the methane produced by the cow disappears off into the atmosphere. It doesnโ€™t simply all end up going back into grass production. Sympathy for the cause, but this misinformation doesnโ€™t help at all.

There may be issues with input C accounting but all the methane (CH4) is not broken down into C. In fact key catalysts, hydroxyl radicals, are increasingly reacting with carbon monoxide from fires, reducing the rate of atmospheric CH4 breakdown. CH4 is dramatically worse than C.

Nope, he's missing out chunks of problems. First of all, the methane emitted by cows doesn't just go back into grass. It goes into the atmosphere, where it acts as a greenhouse gas. He's also failing to acknowledge fertiliser use, fuel use, nitrate environmental damage etc.

@essexwindyfarm All carbon was pulled out of the air. Itโ€™s a matter of when it happened (ie a year ago, or millions of years ago when our climate was somewhat different!)

@MikeSav51408235 If youโ€™ve ridden a cow before then you know they can be classified as transport. What comes out of transport? Emissions.

It's because they want to stave us so they fiddle definitions & stats, just like they did with covid. They have an end game & the framing of definitions is being used to get there. Sense & true science doesn't enter their equation.

@cvfarming Good analysis. There is a but around N fertiliser derived from fossil fuels as that results in 'extra' carbon being stuck into the atmosphere so.many farms are not entirely cyclic. As ever it is more about how than what. The comment about the con of biodigesters is bang on.
