This does not mean that you necessarily need someone else to feel this way about yourself but come on now let's not act like we haven't dealt with someone or seen someone question their self worth bc of dating someone who doesn't value them.

This is why people need to cut the whole “you have be the best version of yourself before getting with someone. Nobody is going to love you until you love yourself” narrative. Some people can heal together and happily learn how to love themselves and each other the right way.

Yes, be in healthy relationships & do not stay in toxic ones (even though I understand trauma bonds are hard to break) but this is still backwards. We should not wait for someone to love us until it “makes us love ourselves.” We should love ourselves first, all else is a bonus.

This is the truth. Being loved *thoroughly* through both romantic and platonic relationships have made me grow in ways I couldn’t have imagined. I’m beyond grateful.

I see a lot of people focusing on the codependency in the comments when that is not the message at all lol. She is just expressing the hardships of being in a relationship with someone that subtracts from you and the accolades of being with someone that adds to your life.
