💔My dear friends, the situation here is terrifying, everything is deteriorating further, and today the army displaced our people from the Cruelty-Free Camp. Thankfully they were able to escape unharmed, but they had to leave everything they owned behind. It is heartbreaking and terrifying, my friends. Everyone is tense and scared, and there’s so little resources available that I’m very worried that we are all going to die. The war seems to have returned with greater force and danger than ever before. There’s lots of people that have been displaced into our area, and today we were able to set up a small water distribution point with water from a nearby well, and there are a lot of people who we hope will benefit from it. Will you please help us to continue to help these poor people in any way we can? Helping the people and animals around us is the only thing that keeps us going, my friends, and seeing your kind words and efforts to stop this war are a great comfort to us in this terrifying time.. 🚨🙏 🫂🆘️🆘️ 🙏🐈 🐾🚨 🫂🐾🙏 💚🚨

Air defense systems are indeed critically important for the defense of Ukraine, and the Ukrainian people will accept this help with gratitude from the President, U.S. Congress and the people of the United States. However, this help, unfortunately, will not bring an end to the war. 🚨BREAKING: TRUMP SAYS ISRAEL MUST IMMEDIATELY STOP THE BOMBING OF GAZA After Donald Trump posted Hamas’ statement which welcomed his administration’s Gaza peace proposal, Trump has now put out a statement via Truth Social ordering Israel to immediately stop the bombing of Gaza. With bated breath, the genocide may finally be coming to an end. The reality of this is the genocide could have been ended a long time ago in the same manner, via a Truth Social post, or at worst a very stern phone call and a threat to withhold military aid. So why is the order from Washington to end the genocide coming now? Perhaps Trump has seen more of the horrific imagery of forced starvation and Israel’s IDF committing war crimes… Or perhaps it is to do with the preparation for a potential second US-Israeli attack on Iran. The military might of the US empire is being rotated back to the Middle East in the same way it was before the first US-Israeli attack on Iran. In a second war with Iran, Iran will not hold back, and perhaps the Trump Administration has calculated that Israel cannot fight a war on two fronts. What next for Israel? A population that overwhelmingly supports apartheid and genocide against Palestinians will be in an outraged frenzy at the thought of not occupying Gaza and ethnically cleansing every Palestinian. Fanatical members of Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition such as Smotrich and Ben-Gvir will almost certainly oppose any attempts to even slow down the genocide, let alone stop it. Israeli media are already reporting that the Israeli cabinet were shocked by Trump’s positive response to Hamas’ statement. Will Netanyahu, now with his grip on power even more uncertain after Trump’s order, openly disobey Trump and continue bombing Gaza? Or will he pretend to obey for now, and fabricate a pretext later to bomb the peace plan out of existence and restart the horrors? At least two things are clear currently: 1. Benjamin Netanyahu now risks drawing the ire of the majority of the MAGA base, and the US population should he disobey Trump’s order 2. The US and Israel are setting the stage for a potential second war on Iran Perhaps there is finally hope for the starving, exhausted Palestinian survivors in Gaza…but the US and Israel may be about to unleash even more horrific carnage with a second war on Iran.

This “Stop The War coalition” supported Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2014. More accurately, it’s a Stop The West coalition, continuing an old playbook used by the similarly misnamed “World Peace Council”. Presented as a supposedly spontaneous post-WW2 initiative of intellectuals across Europe, the Soviets maintained strict control over its activities and messaging. They defined war and imperialism as inherent features of capitalism, while defining peace as communism. With that logic, it would only ever condemn the West for waging war, while either staying quiet or defending wars and occupations of the Soviet Union. Only the West ever had agency to them. Just as Stop The War blames the West for Russia invading Ukraine and laments the end of Assad’s civil war in Syria, the World Peace Council supported the North Korean invasion of South Korea and had nothing to say about the Soviet crushing of the uprising in Hungary nor the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. It demanded the US, UK, and France withdraw all troops abroad, but of course never demanded the withdrawal of Soviet troops from the occupied Baltic countries – or anywhere else. Based on its noble-sounding name, the World Peace Council grew into the most prominent part of the post-WW2 international ‘peace’ movement, organising protests and lobbying campaigns around the world focused on opposing NATO and other Western activity. Its devoutly communist members slowly lost their faith in their funders, however. One notable blow came from their own side when Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, a former Red Army captain sent to the gulag by Stalin was released and allowed by Kruschev to write about Stalinist terror …before he once again became persona non grata after Khrushchev and got arrested. While trying to ignore growing divisions and disillusionments among communists, the World Peace Council got epically trolled on this. Someone (which we now know from declassified files was British intelligence) issued a fake statement on their behalf in support of Solzhenitsyn after he got arrested. It had all the pro-Soviet rambling hallmarks of a real World Peace Council statement but its singular purpose was to goad them into having to declare their actual position on Solzhenitsyn. The World Peace Council took the bait. It wanted to maintain silence about human rights in the Soviet Union but, even more so, it could never allow itself to be seen to stray from the official Soviet position. So they angrily denounced the fake letter, making it clear that they had never said anything at all ever about Solzhenitsyn. Their concern for human rights always stopped at the Soviet border. Solzhenitsyn himself isn’t an admirable figure, by the way. He was merely off message at the time due to his personal experience of Soviet terror but remained a Russian imperialist after the end of the Soviet Union. More important is what he directly revealed about Soviet terror and what his case indirectly revealed about Soviet supporters around the world. The World Peace Council increasingly discredited itself, alongside the collapsing Soviet Union. The membership splintered. New groups came out of it. Key figures behind Stop The War were part of the World Peace Council and regularly appear on Russian state channels. In this same speech from Dianne Abbott, she even decries the “coup” against Assad and includes it in her list of US wars. Yeah, not the actual Civil War, but the end of that war. And they can’t ascribe any agency to Syrians. Stop The War and Dianne Abbot used to hold panel discussions about the Syrian war with pro-Assad talking points from only Western panelists while Syrians complained that they were excluded. The Soviet Union is no more. World communism can’t inspire many people anymore. But, absent its strict dogmatism, it’s still the same logic about war and peace used by organisations like Stop The War and Dianne Abbot in this clip.

More accurately, it’s a Stop The West coalition, continuing an old playbook used by the similarly misnamed “World Peace Council”. Presented as a supposedly spontaneous post-WW2 initiative of intellectuals across Europe, the Soviets maintained strict control over its activities and messaging. They defined war and imperialism as inherent features of capitalism, while defining peace as communism. With that logic, it would only ever condemn the West for waging war, while either staying quiet or defending wars and occupations of the Soviet Union. Only the West ever had agency to them. Just as Stop The War blames the West for Russia invading Ukraine and laments the end of Assad’s civil war in Syria, the World Peace Council supported the North Korean invasion of South Korea and had nothing to say about the Soviet crushing of the uprising in Hungary nor the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. It demanded the US, UK, and France withdraw all troops abroad, but of course never demanded the withdrawal of Soviet troops from the occupied Baltic countries – or anywhere else. Based on its noble-sounding name, the World Peace Council grew into the most prominent part of the post-WW2 international ‘peace’ movement, organising protests and lobbying campaigns around the world focused on opposing NATO and other Western activity. Its devoutly communist members slowly lost their faith in their funders, however. One notable blow came from their own side when Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, a former Red Army captain sent to the gulag by Stalin was released and allowed by Kruschev to write about Stalinist terror …before he once again became persona non grata after Khrushchev and got arrested. While trying to ignore growing divisions and disillusionments among communists, the World Peace Council got epically trolled on this. Someone (which we now know from declassified files was British intelligence) issued a fake statement on their behalf in support of Solzhenitsyn after he got arrested. It had all the pro-Soviet rambling hallmarks of a real World Peace Council statement but its singular purpose was to goad them into having to declare their actual position on Solzhenitsyn. The World Peace Council took the bait. It wanted to maintain silence about human rights in the Soviet Union but, even more so, it could never allow itself to be seen to stray from the official Soviet position. So they angrily denounced the fake letter, making it clear that they had never said anything at all ever about Solzhenitsyn. Their concern for human rights always stopped at the Soviet border. Solzhenitsyn himself isn’t an admirable figure, by the way. He was merely off message at the time due to his personal experience of Soviet terror but remained a Russian imperialist after the end of the Soviet Union. More important is what he directly revealed about Soviet terror and what his case indirectly revealed about Soviet supporters around the world. The World Peace Council increasingly discredited itself, alongside the collapsing Soviet Union. The membership splintered. New groups came out of it. Key figures behind Stop The War were part of the World Peace Council and regularly appear on Russian state channels. In this same speech from Dianne Abbott, she even decries the “coup” against Assad and includes it in her list of US wars. Yeah, not the actual Civil War, but the end of that war. And they can’t ascribe any agency to Syrians. Stop The War and Dianne Abbot used to hold panel discussions about the Syrian war with pro-Assad talking points from only Western panelists while Syrians complained that they were excluded. The Soviet Union is no more. World communism can’t inspire many people anymore. But, absent its strict dogmatism, it’s still the same logic about war and peace used by organisations like Stop The War and Dianne Abbot in this clip.
