There’s a lot of chat about this as it’s a rare dismissal but it’s no big deal. He made a mistake, he out, he must be kicking himself. Others get out making silly mistakes such as a crap shot.

What's next can't give him out LBW because he's 17 🤣🤣. It was out unfortunately for the lad. A lesson well learned for him moving forward

It is no different to when Graham Gooch handled the ball in a Yest match and was given out. A moment of stupidity or lack of awareness has rightly cost him his wicket

No complaints. A foolish mistake by a young lad which he (and many others) will learn from. That said, I do feel for him. He has instinctively tried to catch the ball (which was no danger to his wicket) then immediately realised his error.

It's an unlucky dismissal, but I agree that you can't give someone a warning for this due to age. If it's a local Saturday comp, and the batter is playing his first season, it's obviously a different story. I remember in U14, we recalled a batter who was out hit wicket

the ball was literally heading towards the stumps and he swiped at it with his hand thats out at every level no matter the age. people just hate seeing a kid get done like that
