This article is very good because it talks about how Ukraine's 🇺🇦 mid-range strike campaign continues, the same way as before, with less media coverage. All the data I'm collecting confirms mid-range strikes continue at a similar pace to the past few months. 🧵THREAD🧵1/10 ⬇️

The number of trucks and vehicles destroyed far from the front by Ukrainian drones continue to be the same as previous months. With autumn and winter coming, tree cover will be less important, which will facilitate strikes against Russian logistics.

continue to target and destroy energy infrastructure in occupied Ukraine. -> Russian forces will lack gas, electricity and oil for their operations. The number of electric substations hit continue to be very high.

At the same time, Russian radars, air-defense and electronic warfare systems continue to be destroyed as before, mainly into occupied territories.

Frontline units in many areas continue to suffer from mid-range strikes against logistics, energy and rear/command bases. In some directions, (Lyman, Zaporizhzhia...), mid-range strike enable offensive actions.

What was unthinkable 6 months ago is happening right now, everyday, and we forget about it : 🔹Many key roads used for Russian logistics are under constant shelling 🔹Rear bases and depots continue to be targeted 🔹Drones reach every part of the occupied territories on a daily basis 🔹Ukrainian drones can freely move over Melitopol, Mariupol, Donetsk or Luhansk.

To counter this, Russia moved many soldiers from other activities to air-defense escorts of convoys, with the very difficult task to protect convoys. 🔹Most convoys are now protected by ground based AD 🔹Interceptor drones continue to work, but Ukraine uses a lot more of decoys 🔹Convoys are very visible and often targeted by many drones

Another worrying trend for Russia is the range of Ukraine's FPV drones. We now have regular strikes with FPVs farther than 40km from the frontline.

As I was writing this report, @Playfra0 also wrote something, so I will add his comments here :

Conclusion : ▫️Mid-range strikes continue and are very effective ▫️Winter is going to help these strikes, which will be more effective since the tree cover will disappear ▫️Ukraine is developping long range FPV drones, which are very successful ▫️Often forgotten, but a lot of soldiers are dying from mid-range strikes, especially in the air-defense teams. On the 2 700 strikes I've counted on videos (probably not all the ones that are happening), I believe hundreds of soldiers may be KIA and WIA, sometimes 100 km from the frontline. The main challenges for Ukraine now : ▫️Increase the number of strikes and decoys to cut key roads from reinforcements and logistics ▫️Protect the drone launches ahead of winter ▫️Keep up the number of missionsand their success rate.

Cette campagne de frappes ukrainiennes à moyenne portée a-t-elle contribué au succès ukrainien autour de Lyman ?

Why is it continuing at a similar rate though? Shouldn't the number of strikes have massively increased by now? Starlink and Hornet drones are quite OP, yet by all accounts, Russia is still sending thousands of trucks (and even some trains) via the land bridge.

Russian advances this year would have been much bigger without this campaign

I think a big part of the success on the Lyman front and south is due to the mid strikes. They have devastating effects and I hope it's intensity will only grow.

At a guess, Vivaldi would not have happened without midrange attacks. Pushing command and coms back that far was essential and it has made a mess of the mess that was Russian logistics

This also, I think affects current counter-attack activity N/NE of Lyman area. It is harder to resupply areas especially if 🇺🇦 is advancing tactically, along a wide area of the front.

Russian troops cannot hold the line without proper logistics support. But there's a dilemma, how to help the Ukrainian population in still occupied areas and prevent the russians to steal the food provided?

Using convoys is probably a good strategy by Russia if they can develop more effective AD cover, much like Allies’ use of convoys to protect against U-boat wolf packs in world wars.

How much of Russias failure to gain forward momentum on the battlefield this year do you think is directly connected to the Ukrainian mid range strike campaign? The timing seems to say it may have been decisive in 2026
