This boy should write self help books 1. It is all about mindset 2. Happiness flows when you reject victimhood and grievance 3. Take pride in what you do and stop comparing yourself to others 4. Eventually you just become someone who is happy

His mother is exactly what a mother should be. Encouraging, affirming, happy & pleased for him. The amount of parents that would have responded with disappointment and passed that feeling onto their children. Well done Mum.

I can’t tell you how many people I’ve met who say, “I want to write a book, but I have no idea where to start”. Call me. Honestly, in 15 minutes you'll figure out you have absolutely everything you need to start, finish, and dominate it.

I remember advice from a grizzled PSI about soldiering and rain. Basically he said to tell yourself "Great, it's raining. I really love the rain". Weirdly, after a while it sort of worked.

Perhaps also we should be in awe of his teachers and school who have made sure that every child feels they make a positive and important contribution. This is what belonging to a caring and affirming community looks like.

Studies repeatedly show that the happiest people are those who are content with what they have in life. Must have a knock on effect on health too.
