This broke the internet in 1977.

So that's why we didn't get proper internet until some time in the 2000's. They broke it...

Exactly. It was toast.

This movie scared the hell out of me as a kid.

You better believe it, Charles! 🚗

Aah, yes! I vividly recall the Great Internet Outage of 1977.

Fun trivia ~ the Car is a modified 1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III Surprisingly enough, 42 years later it produced a sequel with “The Car: Road to Revenge” (2019), featuring a return performance from an aging Ronny Cox. (!) Director Elliot Silverstein had previously worked as a television director. He made occasional ventures onto the big screen with the likes of “Cat Ballou” (1965) and “A Man Called Horse” (1970). His only other genre entry was the horror film “Nightmare Honeymoon” (1970). 🤔

😏

It must be Christine's Brother.

Absolutely! Older, much grumpier brother.

🤣🤣🤣👌

best easter egg ever!

While the internet was born in 1983, the World Wide Web (WWW) didn't exist until 1989. 11 years after this.

It broke the internet, Jeff.

Why was her house in the middle of the road?

Great movie! Great scene!

Wouldn't stand a chance against Killdozer: The Original.

Which one wins ? Duel (1971) Or The Car (1977) Crazy trucker or demonic car ?

I keep this movie close to my heart.

So THIS is what American Dad was referencing that one time with Roger’s vengeful crusade against the frat bros who stiffed him! 🙌🏾

Great flick!! 🤘🏻

The cars are coming from inside the house!

It overloaded all our 300-baud phone lines!

Meanwhile she should’ve bought a house like this.

In 1977 internet had about 30 computers connected. You could literally break it with a car. Or a small hammer.

It sure did, i remember, I was there 3000 years ago

Not as good as The Tire.

It did go viral

This pleases the Car. *HONK! HONK! HONK! HONNNNNNNK!

“Our House, in the middle of the street…”

Amazing scary Car! 😳😈

Beware the Car!

Sinister 🖤

Wait for it...

Cool! Great moment 😉

Is that inside a Pizza Hut?

fortunately the internet was quite small and easy to repair back then.

‘ALLO, GUVNUH!

And it birthed the 2010 movie Rubber to patch things up. 😂

You do realize some zoomers aren't going to understand the internet didn't exist in 1977 and the poor things are going to need therapy?

This movie had a much happier ending in France.
