I watched all 2+ hours of this interview and Frank (the African dude) was arguing in bad faith. He constantly kept cutting them off when they were trynna state their points. When he was factually wrong and misinformed he would “I didn’t know that and don’t know enough about that specific situation so I do not wanna talk about it” when presented with evidence. He asked why don’t block people build their own community and when David gave all the times when we did they were burnt down or flooded and destroyed he completely dismissed it. He wanted them to see his world view but refused to see ours because it directly confronted his way of thinking. He was making me mad lowkey.

It’s amazing how the Black Diaspora hates Black America all while their respective countries are a mess. They won’t go back to fight for it, they don’t care about their own people, don’t care about a damn thing except disparaging Black American history, life, culture and liberty.

He basically said a whole lot of nothing. His talking about creativity. Even here in South Africa, we turned Caterpillar construction boots into a fashion statement, but nobody’s out here saying that’s our entire culture. Creativity and culture aren’t the same thing.

can bet this whole BA and Africans discourse is not organic. In my lived experience as an African, BA culture like he said is greatly admired and heavily copied in Africa Look at how we talk when we want to talk foreign, cultural references, etc. Seed of division being sowed

These elder African folks even fixing their mouths to say some degenerative shit like we don’t culture… that’s funny because you wouldn’t be allowed across our borders without the struggle our people endured over the years. In fact every incentive they get from being allowed to migrate here for an education or otherwise, wouldn’t exist without the culture they claim we don’t have. From asylum to green cards, that shit wouldn’t exist for anyone coming from the continent of Africa, without our culture. There would still be slave trade transactions from that continent, without our culture.

In college this African girl told me because Im An FBA that I'm white in the mind because I received the white man's education. I was baffled because this chick was in college with me getting the same education lol. I just had to laugh and shake my head at her lol.

That African hates Africa, and hates himself. And he projects everything he hates about himself of black Americans that he admirers. But with love comes more hate, because it makes himself hate himself more.

I can care less with a bunch of tribal Africans think about me, this man is delusional. He doesn’t even know what culture is himself, but he’s trying to project his nonsense on us.. black Americans are documented we know who our grandpa grandparents and our great grandparents. This man doesn’t even know his great great grandmother’s birthday. 🤔✍🏾

This dialogue must be had before consolidating the Global Black movement I agree w/the brother Ignorant people have disrespected the frontline of Black resistance, the American Black, here for centuries struggling and fighting the oppressor unceasingly. It’s a resistance culture

Dude only said African Americans don't have authentic culture and just wanted simple examples of it and he started yapping and giving a whole sermon about unrelated things. The point is black American culture comes from different groups, we didn't invent all of it piece by piece.

I'd add to this and say most of the world copies America and black people are pretty much among the two most influential groups in America. So it makes sense why Afro-Caribbeans and Africans would copy them. Then again, Bob Marley inspired a generation as well.

The ignorance in these claims is staggering. America as a whole made these cultural contributions possible, not "Black America" in isolation. The world emulates American culture in general, not some separate "Black American" culture. I lived through every stage of this era. The shifts in fashion, music, and style were never driven solely by Black Americans; they were driven by America—by all of us, together, across racial and economic lines. When I was growing up, Carhartt jackets and Timberland boots were simply the durable, affordable clothes working class kids, Black, White, Latino, everybody, could buy. Then Havoc and Prodigy and other NY rappers wore them in a video, and Wall Street began offering massive endorsement deals to wear their products, and suddenly those same poor-kid staples became "hot" everywhere. When you were broke, a pack of five plain white T-shirts for five dollars at the dollar store was how you stayed fresh. Then Eminem blew up, and overnight those same white tees were trendy amongst folks who could afford to dress however they desired; nothing changed but perception. It worked both ways: hip-hop artists rising from the bottom emulated lower-income American style, and in return, the upper and upper-middle classes started copying them. Marketing amplified the whole cycle, but the root was shared American experience, not a one-directional or racially exclusive phenomenon. The notion that Black Americans have been creating and owning an entirely separate culture all along is divisive fiction. What we call "Black culture" in these contexts is American culture, full stop. Anyone insisting otherwise is either trying to deceive people or is profoundly ignorant of reality.
