Your take is interesting. Where I don’t get you is that, imo this has always been the case. Talented founders using the foundations of a sector/product that already existed and previously failed, then turning it into a successful project, that’s just not new. Typically Hyperliquid in 2024 didn’t revolutionize the core product that DEXs are at all. They just used the failures of similar products to fix their flaws, and at the same time added their own specific components. Another example. Pumpfun (one of the most successful protocols of the last cycle) didn’t invent anything that innovative. They just took what already existed in the memecoin ecosystem, removed the friction, made the whole launch process simpler, faster, etc. That’s not a revolution in itself. They just had much better execution of what was already being done, based on the failures of previous protocols in that space. It’s been a long time since innovation, in the pure sense of the word, is necessarily what makes a project succeed in a cycle.
