This came blasting into Oldham county about 15 minutes before the tornado warning was issued (around 7:30pm) I’d say wind gusts 60-70 mph were likely.

What is the most wind you've ever played in? I'm not sure today was the most, but probably top 5. Steady around 30 mph with gusts to 50! I like these conditions occasionally. It's fun to chip a 7 iron from 120 to get a low runner into the wind. Wouldn't want this every day tho.

Finally got around to making a loop from the severe weather sequence from April 23rd (Thursday) to April 29th (Tuesday). This was a very active stretch, with a total of 103 tornado reports, 500 hail reports, and 501 damaging wind reports. Along with this, a total of 264 tornado warnings and 1,218 severe thunderstorm warnings were issued.

I'm gonna go ahead and release this here, as there seems to be some discourse since it was not well documented, as Ben McHone and I were the only chasers with a view of the Kankakee, IL Tornado as it morphed from a stout stovepipe to a large wedge. We were northbound on a road, looking south of the tornado, while most high-profile chasers were to the SW of the tornado at the time. This tornado turned into a rapidly widening tornado and was cloaked by RFD, moving directly into Aroma Park. This tornado spooked me to a degree as I was anticipating it to be moving more NE vs due East. Otherwise, this would have been a very close-range intercept. After this, the tornado became wrapped from our view before blasting east. I'll release a video of the Satellite with an evil El Reno-like Meso here later.

A semi-truck was blown across the roadway and flipped over on I-65 southbound near Jasper, Indiana as powerful wind gusts of 50–60 mph ripped through the area. 💨🚛 The truck slid across lanes, nearly taking out multiple drivers before overturning. Today was one of the most intense storms I've chased this year and honestly one of the scariest in my career. 80+ mph winds feeding into a beastly supercell completely swallowing my vehicle stranding me right in my tracks before I slowly creeped out enough to bust back out ahead of it and getting rolled with 70+ mph winds again in Grinnell, KS. Also documented a brief tornado in Atwood, KS before this all unfolded. Very chaotic storm! #KSwx

Sirens sounded about 20 minutes before impact, but more than 1,400 homes and businesses were damaged or destroyed. Never seen this before. This is from Saturday, April 28, 2001 where Stoke City were away to Oldham Athletic. Before the match started the fans united & walked though an Asian area chanting "we hate P-word" & "if you hate P-word, stand up". It led to clashes with petrol bombs, bricks, & other objects thrown, 16 people were arrested. The catalyst was an alleged assault by Asians on 76-year-old Walter Chamberlain in Oldham. The local Asians had also boasted about creating "no-go" areas for whites. Maybe a glimpse into the future of Britain. Hat tip EnochWasRight RN

The first wind event will impact not just Northern California but also Central and Southern California in the next 72 hours. Let me explain. The initial wind event will affect Northern California as a surface cold front crashes through, with north winds gusts reaching 45 to 60 mph. This particular wind event will impact the Napa, Santa Rosa, and San Francisco regions from Wednesday noon through about 1 PM Thursday, when the cold front moves down into Bakersfield, kicking up dust and debris and potentially causing issues on the 5 Freeway and 99. This will likely have impacts later tonight through Thursday. Meanwhile, in Southern California, northwest wind gusts are projected to reach 40 to 55 mph, possibly causing trees to fall and powerlines to collapse early Thursday morning and continuing through Thursday night. This will also affect Long Beach, California, which is quite unusual for these events. A secondary low-pressure axis will take shape, arriving on Saturday at 4AM to Sunday at 12PM positioning itself near Yuma, Arizona. This atmospheric setup with allow asurface high over Santa Cruz, California of a 1025 millibar high will create ideal conditions for a strong and potentially strong Santa Ana wind event for Southern California particularly the corridor from Santa Clarita to Camarillo around 55 to 65 mph, creating potential for destructive power lines to come down. Unfortunately, this very strong wind will cause mountain waves in the San Fernando Valley and Malibu region. The good news is that we will not see significant fire activity due to the recent tremendous rainfall we experienced in mid February 2026 and in December 2025. However, Saturday 2AM - 9AM there is concern that we could see even isolated stronger winds in Altadena and Pasadena that could exceed 65 MPH gusts. I am closely monitoring the situation, as this very windy period will also affect Las Vegas and parts of Arizona with gusts of 45MPH - 65 MPH. If you are traveling in those areas, please be aware of blowing dust and debris on highways. #CAwx
