Ok. Are we talking about races that go inverted in the near future? Because I’m all for it.

Well, after talking to my 14-year-old son who is in the hyper cars he said this hyper car and some others can drive upside down tunnels, but this is the only one that can go upside down at a standstill

Well… at a standstill is somewhat useless. I’ve seen a race where cars go inverted. That sounds awesome.

It’s the only one that can Do it at a standstill without a driver due to the fan system, but he said it can go upside down in tunnels

Oh wow it uses thrust? That’s awesome I figured it would be some sort of tire modification or something, like a vacuum pulled on them somehow.

Ahhhhh I see. It’s pretty much creating a vacuum under that skirt that rides the ground. My thought was to do it through ports in the tires. Same concept. I wonder how they keep that chamber from getting torn up riding right on the ground like that.. 🤔. Either way that’s cool.

The only issue is, they will never test these in a real environment, so much of what they can do is theoretical. The potential for damage and injury is too great. I’d say prove it!

C’mon, it’s not revolutionary. Gordon Murray created the Brabham fan car in 1978. Niki Lauda won decisively in the only GP the car raced in before F1 outlawed it.

You could have done the same thing in the Brabham car from 1978, which generated between 3,000 and 4,000 lbs of downforce in a car weighing 1,150 lbs.

So, it basically will vacuum up the road as it drives. How often do you have to change the filter? Probably should never dive it over sand, gravel or loose soil.

They only ever do this with these automobiles, enclosed environments

I was making the point that it is impractical. I think even for closed circuit racing. It is impossible to keep all debris off the track. Also the additional drain on the battery for the vacuum motors will limit the distance it is capable of driving considerably.
